A Paris Themed Valentine’s Dinner

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! Valentine’s Day is coming in just a few short days. I love styling beautiful tablescapes and any occasion to surprise my husband with a romantic dinner for two! My husband LOVES Paris, so this was an easy romantic table setting to pull off. Outside of the dramatic Eiffel Tower, this is a pretty simple tablescape. Setting a pretty table is something I love to do for special date nights.

The inspiration piece for this table was my lighted Eiffel Tower.  I picked this up a few years ago at Michael’s. I added heart shape stickers to my Eiffel Tower for this special occasion.

You can still find these Eiffel towers on the internet. Here is one available on Etsy! This is the perfect way to celebrate anything Paris!

I was planning this pretty silver and white wintery Paris themed dinner for New Year’s Eve and then the big party invitation arrived, so switch to Valentine’s day!  I changed it up and this will be our Valentine’s dinner with the table all set in red and white and silver.  Glitter up a bottle of champagne and celebrate!

I added some puffy little hearts to the Eiffel Tower, and I have glittered a bottle of Champagne in red.  My color scheme is mostly silver and white with just a little pop of color with red accents. The table will be set like this with a silver and white tablecloth, silver sequin placemats, red chargers, white dishes with silver frills on them are partnered with matching bread plates and mercury glass-looking salad plates.  You could use a simple white dinner plate to create a similar look. My everyday flatware, Classic Shell by Oneida stands in.

Even in Florida it can get a little cool in the evening, so I think tucking the fur throws on the chairs will add a little luxurious touch.  Even though I am not the big fan of Paris my husband  I think I will use this frame on the table and perhaps set the food service platters inside of it.  This is one of these great Ikea Ung Drill frames.  I have used it so many times in so many different ways, but I painted it silver for my Winter Wonderland tablescape and was so happy with how it looks in silver, I was anxious to use it again.  It dresses up a table so much.  I had this little Eiffel Tower which used to house a clock.  I think I will fill it with red roses from Trader Joe’s for the dinner next week.

I am looking forward to this dinner and I know my husband will love it.  Instead of the dining room, I will serve out on the porch as long as our warm weather holds out. I am planning on cooking coq au vin, asparagus, serving a light salad and croissants with a yummy crepe for dessert.  What would be your ideal Valentine’s Day?

Simple tips for your Valentine’s Day Dinner:

If cooking isn’t your strength, pick up your partner’s favorite meal from a local restaurant and serve it at home to avoid the crowds and make it more intimate.
Use Valentine’s scrapbook paper as a table runner.
Light candles for an immediate romantic feel.
Sprinkle conversation hearts on your table for a table fun.
Grocery store flowers can easily be arranged for a table centerpiece.
The only thing that is important is that you focus on the one you love!

  6. Oh how pretty and so romantic. I’m wondering if Michael’s still has that Eiffel Tower. It’s so pretty, and those stems are to die for. I love that you glittered the Champagne bottle. So many great ideas on this table. The silver frame is another idea I’m going to borrow some time. Thanks so much for linking this to my party.

  7. I do like your Eiffel tower. For whatever reason I decided I wanted a shocking pink Eiffel tower last year. I did find a large black one at Goodwill in January that I had intended on spray painting in the spring. But now I am thinking that maybe it should be left black after seeing yours. The lights on your tower really make it pop on this “Paris” themed tablescape. Very nice!

  8. Hi Chloe
Hope you had a great weekend! Still trying to figure out what to do for our romantic Valentine dinner with my hubby, he suggested we go out for dinner but with so much snow here and freezing weather I’d rather stay home! and surprise him! I was a home sense here in Toronto and I saw a beautiful Eiffel tower but is was huge and solid anyway too heavy so I decided to by pass it! You have given so many wonderful ideas! Will post pictures when I’m done. Happy Valentine’s.
