A Vegetable Garden Themed Tablescape
If you read my blog on a regular basis, you know it doesn’t take much for me to get inspired. Â I saw this fabric and the carrots caught my eye. Â I thought I would use this for an Easter tablescape, but then I found those great bunny plates I featured on my Neutral Easter Tablescape, and then I realized there were tomatoes and radishes all over the fabric, which I of course would not be harvesting at Easter time. Â So, what do I have? Â A Garden Themed Tablescape!
What a lovely luncheon table this set. Â I am just tickled with how this turned out. Â Wouldn’t this be lovely set outside among the garden?
Using my white candle trays from Ikea as chargers was perfect since they set the plates apart from all the colors of the fabric I used for my tablecloth. Â I topped those with a green dinner plate and an orange salad plate.
Plates were topped with a white napkin and a terracotta flower pot topped with an artificial artichoke. Â I will tuck a place card into each of the little artichokes for my guests. Â Next to my little wooden wheelbarrow I filled three little green mason jars with babies breath, so simple and such a nice addition. Â
My centerpiece was this cute little wooden wheelbarrow I first used for my daughter’s baby shower. Â You can see all the pictures from the Peter Rabbit themed party right here. Â I just filled the wheelbarrow with artificial vegetables, lettuce, cabbage, carrots and tomatoes. Â It looks like we have a wonderful bounty from the garden today, doesn’t it? Â By the way, the little trowel was never used in the garden!
When I host a luncheon with this tablescape, I think I will bake some sweet little muffins or cupcakes in the flowerpots, perhaps with little carrots as candies growing in them!
I’ll be sharing this at the following Link Parties:Â Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop, Â A Creative Princess – It’s A Party, Â BNOTP – Tablescape Thursday, Â A Stroll Through Life – Inspire Me Tuesday, Â Show and Share
You know, this tablescape is perfect. Not too much and not too little. It is so perfect with your theme. I love the IKEA candle trays. I have them in white and I sprayed some black for a Day of the Dead tablescape. Your table cover is wonderful as well as your centerpiece. Love the artichoke’s in the terra cotta pots. Simply elegant!
Thanks for stopping by Celebrate and Decorate, Valerie! Those Ikea candle trays are so versatile, aren’t they?
You are the queen of tablescapes Chloe! I can tell it brings you a ton of joy to style a table. I love the wheelbarrow arrangement and the green mason jars with the baby’s breath. I’m a big fan of artichokes as well.
Oh Dawn, you have me pegged. I like nothing more than styling a table, unless it is styling an entire party! Artichokes are so distinctive, so much fun aren’t they?
I love the idea of using the candle trays as chargers, and they look beautiful. You carried the theme out so well. Your little wheelbarrow is so cute, and I like the addition of baby’s breath in the jars. Your plate stack picks up the colors in the cloth perfectly. Lovely table.
Thank you so much Laurie. I just fell in love with that fabric and had to put this together!
Very cute Chloe, I just love vegetable tabletops! the artichokes are adorable in the flower pots!
Thanks Jenna! I was pleased with how this all pulled together!
Chloe –
I am visiting from Bnotp and I am a new visitor. This is so charming and delightful! I usually stay away from such a busy tablecloth, but your addition of those white pierced chargers from Ikea was brilliant. Keeping everything else solid was also key. I find this whimsical, but not silly and I just love it.

Linda, thanks so much for stopping by! That cloth just spoke to me, but you are right, I had to have a clear divider between the cloth and the plate stack to differentiate where one ended and the other began. I will be heading over to check out A Toile Tale!
Awesome tablescape!! Thanks for sharing with the Thursday Blog hop!
Refreshing
Love your tablescape Chloe. Using that little wheelbarrow and the pretty tablecloth is just stunning!
Another beautiful, perfectly detailed table Chloe! It would be so much fun to shop for table decor with you!
Sandra, I think you and I could get into a lot of trouble at Home Goods and Hobby Lobby, The Dollar Tree and Target! Hugs! Chloe
Your tablecloth is wonderful…perfect backdrop to your tablescape. Love all of your gardening details!
Thank you Bev! It was the tablecloth that got me started, and then I remembered all the little garden things I had left from the Peter Rabbit Baby Shower! Hugs! Chloe
