An Elegant Wedding

A New Year’s Weekend Wedding required a formal touch.  This Bride selected black and white and silver to give an elegant touch to her special day.

As guests exited the elevator, they were greeted with a round table draped in a sparkly black tablecloth with a tall centerpiece of silver branches and white hydrangea blossoms.  On that table, guests found their white place cards, each one adorned with a sparkle-snowflake.  These were simple place cards, but fitting to the elegance of the occasion. Black and White and Silver Wedding Candy Bar.jpg

The bride wanted ultimate impact as guests entered the reception.  Three long banquet-style tables were used.  The tables on either side were clothed in white linen cloths with a white and silver beaded overlay.  The center table was double-width with the  Bride and Groom sitting at the head of the table.  To contrast with the bride’s white beaded dress, this table was clothed in a black linen cloth with a sparkled black overlay.Black-white-and-silver-wedding

The white tables were for the Bride’s family and the Groom’s family.  Each place setting was based with a silver charger, draped with white linen napkins, topped with a silver box holding the favors.  The center table was for the Bride and Groom, the wedding party and their friends.  The favor boxes on the black tablecloth were tied with white bows for contrast.

Tucked inside the silver favor boxes were heart-shaped and snowflake shaped cookies frosted and decorated with white and silver were the gift for each guest with the thank you from the Bride and Groom.Wedding table with favors..jpg

The centerpieces on the black center table were tall silver Mercury-glass vases with lights inside them, so that they glowed throughout the evening.Black-vase-centerpieces

There were gorgeous crystal trees with tiny votive candles hanging from them.  As the lights were dimmed for dancing, these just sparkled and glimmered.Crystal trees.jpg

In addition to the candy bar, guests were served this lovely and delicious cake that stayed true to the wedding theme and colors:

The couple cut the cake with a cake server used by the Bride’s grandparents to cut their wedding cake, incorporating a lovely tradition into their special day.

Silver Chivari chairs were used at the banquet style tables.

For this winter wedding, snowflakes were a recurring theme – used on place cards and escort cards, snowflake cookie favors and the florist added these lovely snowflake lights which danced across the ceiling throughout the evening.

Bride and Groom share a kiss.

The Bride and Groom share a toast and a kiss as they sit at the end of their banquet table, surrounded by their wedding party and friends.  Families were seated at the tables on either side of this center table.

I will be sharing this at the following parties:  Amaze Me Mondays |

I was so impressed with the long table theme, the centerpieces and the lighting…the snowflakes projected on the ceiling; all added to the winter theme and colors. The table overlays with silver beads complemented the bride’s dress. I had never been to such a beautiful
wedding, and, of course, it was extra special since the groom is my son and the beautiful bride is my daughter-in-law.
Her mother did a spectacular job pulling
