Bright and Modern Christmas Decor

Bright and modern, pink and green and blue were the colors I decided to pop into our new condominium for last Christmas’ decorations.  My condominium is in a mid-century-modern building, so I have kept the colors rather neutral so that when an occasion like Christmas comes along, I can use whatever pop of color I choose to add spark to my holiday decor.  I chose these bright colors along with white Christmas greens (that is an oxymoron, isn’t it) to give my holiday decorations a mid-century-modern punch!Bright Christmas Centerpiece

I was so lucky last year to pick up this beautiful silver bowl.  I didn’t know exactly when I would use it, but I knew I would use it.  I have used it for so many occasions now!  It is great for filling with ice and bottles of Champagne for a celebration!  For Christmas, I used a large piece of styrofoam for the base, I pinned the white Christmas garland onto the styrofoam and then began building the centerpiece by using lots of brightly colored ornaments and a glue gun.

I wanted to share this picture of the entire piece of furniture so you could see how this bar of decoration adds a little Christmas color to this corner of my home.

Pink and Blue and Green Christmas Decorations

I don’t have a fireplace or mantle in my condominium, so this bookshelf below my television fills the need for a place to decorate and add stockings on Christmas Eve.  This garland was started with white mesh garland, a silver ball garland was added and then it was time to get out the glue gun again and add my colored ornaments.  Don’t forget to tuck a few ornaments in some unexpected places and wrap a few gifts (or all of them) in coordinating papers and ribbons to complete your Christmas theme and decor.  I hope you enjoyed my bright and modern Christmas decorations, I would love to see what your Christmas looks like!

  1. WELL DONE, Chloe! First, I love that piece of furniture AND that bookshelf! Oh, my goodness…such good taste you have! I’m totally impressed that you had the talent and the patience to create that fun piece to go on top of that furniture, and I’m pinning, pinning, pinning for future reference. Smart idea to cover the piece of Styrofoam. That will be key.

The mountain of colorful balls in the silver urn is just pricelessly beautiful! It’s a truly festive look, and it reminds me of the fabulous onion domes on the buildings in Russia!!!

    Have a happy week!
