Caprese Skewers
Caprese skewers are such an easy appetizer to add to your party menu, and so easy for your guests to eat. I really like party foods served on skewers since they can be picked up easily and eaten easily, even when your guests have a drink in their other hand. These are also a perfect Summertime food, cool and fresh!
I made my caprese skewers simple for my Academy Awards Party, with just fresh mozzarella pearls, cherry tomatoes and basil. If you are looking for a more substantial caprese skewer, you can always add cubes of salami or individual tortellini to your skewers.
- 24 Fresh mozzarella pearls
- 12 Cherry tomatoes
- 12 Basil leaves
- 1/2 Cup balsamic vinegar
- Optional:
- cubes of salami
- tortellini
- Thread your mozzarella pearls, and cherry tomatoes (with a basil leaf wrapped around each tomato) onto your skewers. Place them in a flat dish and drizzle the balsamic vinegar over them. Let them sit with the vinegar for 30 minutes, and they are ready to serve. Display the skewers on a platter or stick them into a head of cabbage for a fun display.
Have fun displaying your skewers. For my Academy Awards party, I displayed these in an open film can. I have stuck my skewers in a head of cabbage for a fun display, too. These make a nice fresh addition to any party or get together.
I’ll be sharing this at the following link parties: What To Do Weekends | Best of the Weekend
