Halloween Pretzel Pumpkin Treats

Halloween Pumpkin TreatsThese little pumpkins are easy to make and add a festive touch to any Halloween party.  Since there is nothing scary about these, you could prepare these to share throughout the Fall and Thanksgiving.  They make a nice salty/sweet treat.

To make these pumpkins:

Ingredients:
Traditional knot pretzels, small, large or a variety
Orange candy melts
Orange sanding sugar
Green frosting
Miniature Tootsie Rolls

Begin melting your orange candy melts. While they are melting, cut each mini Tootsie Rolls into three stems for your pretzels.

Dip your pretzel completely in the orange candy melts. (I use small tongs to hold them). Lay each coated pretzel gently in a dish of orange sanding sugar. Lay flat on a piece of wax paper to dry.

When each “pumpkin” is dry, dip the end of one of your Tootsie Roll stems in the orange melts and using the candy melt as “glue” attach it to your “pumpkin”. When the stem is set, you can return your “pumpkin” to the wax paper.

Using a decorating bag and tip, add a leaf and some pumpkin plant tendrils to your “pumpkins” and you are done!

Enjoy this sweet and salty treat throughout Autumn.
