The Day Hometalk Visited My Home

The lovely staff at  Hometalk had contacted me and asked me if I would be interested in hosting some of their Hometalk Facebook Live programs, visiting homes of Hometalkers in my area.  I have had a great relationship with Hometalk.  Thanks to them I have had content shared widely across the internet.  I thought this was a great opportunity, and immediately said “YES”.  Next thing you know, they wanted me to host my first tour of my home!COASTAL HOME TOUR

Just in case you aren’t the kind that likes to watch videos, I thought I would share some photos of the way my home looked on the day of the Facebook Live House Tour.  As I state in the video, my home is a home “in progress”.  There are so very many more projects that need to be done here, I almost don’t know where to begin!  But time and money have to be right, so I take my time, and I also find the longer I live in a space the more I know how I am going to use it and how I want it to look and feel!

A Late Summer Door Wreath designed around a picture frameGuests to my home this day and now until I switch things up for Halloween will be welcomed with this lush arrangement that is anchored by an inexpensive picture frame.  Here is the DIY for a picture frame wreath.  I used the same frame when it was painted a different color for my Fourth of July DIY Wreath.  Home Tour Summer 2016I didn’t really discuss this rug in the foyer of my home, but this arrived just a couple of days before the home tour.  I am still waiting for the sisal area rugs for the living room and dining room, but it is nice to have this one.  A Coral and Turquoise TablescapeAs you step into the dining room, you can see the table is set all in coral and turquoise for a pretty coral inspired tablescape .  My dining table and chairs are from Ballard Designs.  Home Tour Summer 2016I was so glad for us to get our family room pulled together.  This room is comfortable and relaxed.  We can cuddle with granddaughters on these sofas, or my husband and I can each claim one of these to ourselves for an evening of television watching.  The boat in the opening between our living room and this family room gives a little bit of a break between the rooms.  The boat is from Williams Sonoma Home.  Displaying palms in my coastal home.Coastal LivingI love displaying palms in the jars I have collected from Home Goods.  A Coastal Home Tour

My flirty Flamingo Master BedroomMy master bedroom is getting fun with my flirty flamingos taking up residence on my bed.A-blue-cottage-guestroom-with-vintage-photos-681x1024This is our guest room that has become known as “the bird” room due to the little bird on the headboard.  Check out all of the details at, A Pretty Cottage Guest Room.  A-Nautical-Nursery-for-Two-Young-Sisters-768x606 (1)Of course nothing is as much fun to decorate as a child’s room, or in this case, the room my granddaughters stay in when they come to visit.  Decorating a Nautical Nursery was a fun project!

My French Equestrian Themed Guest RoomOne of my two guest rooms, this one with a French feel and some equestrian accents.  You can see more of this bedroom at A French Equestrian Themed Guest Room.  There is more on the video and I will be sharing more and more as things progress!  Thanks for stopping by!

  2. How exciting Chloe! I can see why they asked you to do a tour, your home looks magazine perfect! Love the large sailboat and your refreshing color palette!

  3. Hi Chloe, your home is beautiful. I just began looking at sofas for our new house. I see you have a couple of leather Chesterfields which is what I am looking at. Are you happy with it? Is the leather cozy or do you recommend fabric? Does it stain? I am worried about that issue. Any thoughts/opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    1. Oh, thank you Kelly. After months of research I bought mine at Restoration Hardware. They were certainly an investment, but I am so very happy with them. I was worried about fabric staining, so I went with the leather. It is distressed so nothing seems to stain or mark it. We are just two adults living here, but have had our toddler granddaughters and our daughter with us for three months as they transitioned back to the US from overseas. Those girls crawled all over those sofas and you would never know it. Good luck on your search and ultimate purchase!

  4. Hi Chloe. Thanks for sharing your home. I loved it. Was kinda hoping you’d show the room you do all of your crafts in. Love watching your videos.
