It is officially Fall!   I do love Fall and styling my home for the season.  I spotted these lovely salad plates at Pier One a couple of years ago and knew they would make a pretty feathery Fall tablescape.  I wanted to share this now just in case you want to stop by and pick up these beautiful plates before they are all gone.  These would set a beautiful Thanksgiving table.

Feather decorated salad plates for a Thanksgiving tablescape

The feathers on the salad plates had all kinds of muted colors, browns, purples, oranges, grays, blues and yellows.  Those blues coordinated beautifully with my turquoise dinner plates.  You would never guess the dinner plates set a coral themed tablescape.  Fall Feather themed tablescapeI used three faux pumpkins, two in shades of blue and the ivory one (which somehow looks yellow in my photos) .  I cut up pictures of feathers from a Marshall’s shopping bag and glued them onto the ivory colored pumpkin to carry through the theme.

Dining table with a blue base blends perfectly with this Fall tablescape featuring blue pumpkins.

The blues in these plates were perfect for my new dining table with the blue base on it.  They even work well with the floral chairs.  Both my table and chairs are from Ballard Designs.

Fall Feather Tablescape perfect for Thanksgiving

I fell back into using these rustic wooden handled flatware, they are perfect for partnering with this tablescape.

A blue pumpkin and pheasant feathers whisper that Fall is coming. They will be decorating a Fall table.I love all of the wonderful colored pumpkins you can get now.  These are artificial ones, but I look forward to scouring the farmer’s markets for unusual colors of pumpkins.  I loved the green ones I found and featured in my Thanksgiving table in green and white last year.Fall Feather Centerpiece with colorful pumpkinsThe centerpiece was three grapevine wreaths overlapping each other and acting as nests for the pumpkins.  Pheasant feathers were tucked under the wreaths and extended out on the table.  A few other feathers were tucked around the pumpkins.  Fall Feather Inspired Tablescape

  4. I love that blue dinner plate under the feathered salad plate and what a great centerpiece arrangement too! Those pheasant feathers are very dramatic and the pumpkins picked up on the salad plates perfectly! It’s great how many new faux pumpkins are available now. I usually buy real ones for outdoors use but I like the faux ones for indoor use. Sometimes the real ones will leak and make a mess!

    1. Thank you so much Clarisse! I don’t think there is anything that you can do or way to treat real pumpkins to keep them from spoiling. I rely on a good number of artificial ones on my front porch.
