Five Days of Cute and Easy Cupcakes ~ Day Five ~ Mardi Gras Cupcakes

Create these fun and easy cupcakes for a Mardi Gras treat!  Even if you don’t celebrate Mardi Gras in your part of the world, you could have your own little celebration at home with these treats.  Traditional Mardi Gras colors are purple, yellow and green.  I created these cupcakes by using yellow candy melts, melted and then piped masks onto wax paper by pouring the melted candy into a squeeze bottle.  As soon as I had piped the masks onto the wax paper, I sprinkled some yellow sanding sugar onto them.  I baked cupcakes, piped on white frosting and then gave it a quick spray of Wilton Color Mist in purple, tucked the mask into the frosting and added some mini M and M’s in green and yellow.
