The Birds Have Invaded for Halloween!
Creepy Birds Halloween Decorations
I don’t know if you saw the creepy crows wreath I made a couple of years ago, but when it was time to decorate my front porch back then, I decided it needed to take its place of honor on the front door with all of the other creepy bird friends invited for Halloween. This was the first time I had a front porch like this, and I was so excited to decorate for the holiday.
I bought quite a number of black crows at the Dollar Tree last Halloween and I ordered another box of 24 for them for this year to decorate my front porch. I wanted the little “monsters” to be warned, so I found this sign and had my dear friend, Tricia, change the “monsters” to “birds”. Several yards of black tulle were draped on the railings.

I was so very fortunate to have a branch fall from a neighbor’s tree right before I began my decorating and decided it would be a perfect perch for my birds.
My “tree” was so easy to anchor in a heavy crock. I didn’t even have to scatter the leaves for atmosphere, they were happy to fall and blow around all by themselves.
This was a great branch from a sycamore tree, I think the little dried pods add to the creepy feel.
The birds have let a few of their rat friends come to join the party! These guys also came from the Dollar Tree. I mostly kept them away from the birds and had them staged on one side of the front steps.
The opposite side of the front steps holds orange and black pumpkins with birds perched on and around them.
Some cardstock bats swarm above an old wicker chair draped in sheer gray fabric and perched upon by birds and rats.
Here is what it looked like at dusk! I lined the steps with orange glowing tea lights to guide the way.
I haven’t yet decided how I will decorate my front porch this year, but stay tuned!
Oh my…your decor is super cute!!!!
Thank you Cynthia! It is my first try at outdoor Halloween decor in decades!
Very spooky! Your trick or treaters are in for some fun at your house!
Love this! I have a large contorted branch and after seeing what you did, I think I will put some of those crows on it as well. Thanks for this amazing post. Are you not having a line party today as I was going to post something/ Valerie
Valerie, I was in France for my son’s wedding and was counting on someone to publish the party post, but things slip up, please come by on Saturday for the next party!
Love what you did with the birds on the tree!
Love all the black crows and the mice. So festive! It will be fun to trick-or-treat at your house.
Thank you, Dawn, it will be interesting to see how many trick-or-treaters we have in the new house.
Your home is sure to be the envy of the block! So nice of mother nature to cooperate and scatter some leaves for you. Also, that night shot is fabulous.
Love Halloween and love your decor. Thanks for sharing at #OMHGWW!
Thanks Donna, thanks for hosting!
Love this! I am stealing some of these ideas. We don’t get any trick or treaters and we stopped having our annual party when my son got older, but we still decorate up a storm! Thanks for the ideas!!
Thank you Susan, isn’t this fun? Easy and inexpensive, too!
I love all of the creepy crows and rats. Those are two of my favorite things to decorate with around this time of year. Thanks for sharing at The Creative Circle. Hope to see you this week!!
I just loved being able to decorate with dollar store finds!
Spooktacular Chloe! Your wide steps and porch make it especially fun to decorate for a Happy Haunting!

Chloe, this is spooktacular…really unique!
You have the scariest house on the block. You did a great job, it gives me chills at the back of the spine but then I am afraid of birds. 🙂
Bet you get a lot of treat or treaters! Also, cars slowing down to look!
Very cute.
Wow, impressive entry. I love the bird and of course the mice. The kids will love this! What an invasion.
It looks so awesome as always!
Thank you so much Bird! This one is from a couple of years ago, but I think next year it might need to be re-visited.
