Ten Hostess Gifts She Will Love for Less Than $20!

I am not a Black Friday shopper, I love to shop from the comfort of home.  I have searched high and low for hostess gifts all for less than $20 each, that will be loved.  These are things that will be used and appreciated.  At this price point these are also great ideas to have on hand for that friend or neighbor that shows up with a gift and you want to reciprocate.

10 Hostess Gifts Under $20

Hostess Gifts - Fancy Soap

Pretty soaps are always a nice gift and they are not something most of us treat ourselves to.  This set of four small bars of fragrant shea butter soaps would be lovely alone, or wrap them in a pretty guest towel and tie it up with a ribbon.  At only $11.95  you are giving someone, not a gift they will have to find a place to stick on a shelf, but lovely soaps to be used.

Hostess Gifts - Cook Books

I came across several Martha Stewart books that are selling for as little as one penny used, but even as low as $2.75 for this Parties and Projects for the Holidays book.  Another one I found for just $6.65 on Amazon is Martha Stewart’s Hors d’Oeuvres Handbook.  This would be perfect for the friend who always has the best finger food at her cocktail parties!

Hostess Gifts - Cheese Boards

How about that couple who always has you over for wine and cheese?  This set of six porcelain cheese markers and pen make a lovely gift, and at $9.95 for a set, you can include a wonderful cheese or two for a perfect gift.  Do you like that pretty gray marble cheese board?  The stone board and a cheese knife can be had for just $18.95.

Hostess Gift - Parchment Leaves

While we are talking about cheeses, let me show you these parchment leaves that can be tucked under cheeses to add an elegant touch and a little color to a cheeseboard.  An assortment of twenty leaves sells for $10.05.

Hostess Gift - Butter Bell

I have really enjoyed making flavored butters this year, but sadly I usually just put them into a plastic sealed container.  A pretty butter bell like this one would be especially nice, particularly if you delivered it with a homemade flavored butter and a loaf of crusty bread.  This butter bell is on sale for just $9.99 on Amazon, but there are so many more there you could choose from if you wanted something a little fancier.  I like the simplicity of this one, it would be at home in either a traditional or a contemporary kitchen.

Hostess Gift - Herb Scissors

That dinner party hostess that always makes everything from scratch would love to have a pair of these stainless steel herb scissors to snip those fresh herb into her latest recipe.  $12.95 for the scissors and a pot of Rosemary or Chives would team up for a lovely gift.

Hostess Gift - Wine & Cheese Tote

That couple you are always on the go with, be it a ball game or a concert in the park would appreciate this $14.99 wine and cheese party tote.  If you want to beef up this hostess gift add the wine and cheese to make it extra special!

Hostess Gift - Wine Tool Set

Perhaps the host or hostess that is newly on their own would appreciate this set of wine tools that come in this clever case that can easily be left on the bar as a pretty and practical accent.  $14.96 for this will make it possible to add a bottle of your favorite wine.

Hostess Gift - Cheese Knives

For $11.98 you can gift this set of stainless steel cheese knives to a hostess that always makes you feel welcome.  Add some of those parchment leaves and she will be all set to entertain.

Hostess Gift - Burt's Bees Hand Repair Kit

Burt’s Bees products are always a nice touch and I know after I have spent December baking, my hands would love a little TLC with this Hand Repair Kit.  At $12.68 this is a nice gift to have on hand for hostesses, friends, coworkers, teachers or anyone else whose hands could use some gentle treatment.

I hope you have taken away a little inspiration for your hostess gifts this season and that you look forward to doing a little online shopping instead of fighting the crowds.  Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone of you, safe travels and happy shopping!

  1. You have just helped me with my Christmas shopping thank you. I am not a Black Friday shopper either, I’d rather be at home eating leftovers! These are lovely finds and I may get a few for myself. Wishing you the best!

    1. I hope I helped, Sandra. I have never been one to venture out into the craziness of Black Friday. I am a little stressed that I need to run out today and pick up a couple of things to complete the centerpieces for the Ohio celebration of my son’s wedding that will be happening on Saturday night. Better today than Friday! God Bless your family this Thanksgiving! Hugs! Chloe
