How to Make Fun Fur Napkin Rings

I made these fur napkin rings for my Winter Wonderland tablescape, but they would be perfect for all kinds of Christmas and Wintertime tables.  I think they add a lovely, elegant touch to the table and there are so many different ways to embellish them! Fur Napkin Ring I am not much of a seamstress, but this is a very easy project that even I could manage with just a little hand-sewing.  Fur Napkin Rings DIYI began with buying by-the-yard fur trim, allowing 6 inches for each napkin ring.  Cut the trim into 6 inch pieces.  Next, you can hand stitch, or sew on your machine, each piece, turned wrong side out, into a circle.  Turn the circle right side out and you have your napkin ring.  What can be easier than that?  Fur Napkin Ring 2You could stop at this step and just tuck your holiday napkins inside these little rings of fur, or you can go on to embellish them further, as I did.  Glitzy Fur Napkin RingI added a sparkly button to each of mine, but I am thinking of  creating more of these, maybe with a black buckle to suggest Santa Claus, or a cameo for a more Victorian feel.  Once you have the rings made, the possibilities are endless.  Glitzy Fur Napkin Ring 2At the beginning of this post, you could see how elegant these looked on a silver and white tablescape, but above you can see how fun they are when you combine them with a Christmas red napkin.  One of my dear readers suggested they look like the little muffs we used to tuck our hands into to keep warm when we were little, I think she is so right about that!

  1. Sewing is not my forte either Chloe but I think I can handle this. We are both thinking fur this season and I’ve used it on a table I’ll be sharing soon. Love the embellishment you used and the possibilities are endless!
