It’s A Disney Christmas!
It is time for a Disney Christmas at my house! Â If you are new to Celebrate & Decorate, you may not know, but I live in Celebration, the Disney developed community. Â I live just a few short miles from Walt Disney World, so I have to include some Disney Christmas decor at my house.Â
Make a Mickey Mouse Ornament:
I began with this collection of shatterproof ornaments, some I have had for years, others, I picked up this year at Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby and Michael’s. Shop where ever you can get the best price on the color or pattern of ornaments you are looking for.
First step in making your own Mickey Mouse shaped ornaments is to remove the caps from the two smaller ones. These usually pop off very easily, but a pair of pliers will also help them come right off. You don’t need to get aggressive, just gently pull them off.
Melt holes with a glue gun in where you want to attach the ears. I keep an older glue gun around to use for this purpose.
This is what an ornament should look like with the hole melted in it, ready to receive the “ears”.
Use a little bit of hot glue to secure the ear onto the head ornament. Often times the little bit of plastic where the caps were will secure the “ears” into the holes you melted into the larger ornament, but it never hurts to make them more secure with the little bit of hot glue.
Here is one ear attached to the larger ornament. Â I chose to make my ornaments in fun combinations of colors and patterns instead of sticking with a single color. Get creative and have fun. You can make these out of black and white ornaments and add a red bow for “Minnie” ornaments if you want!
This was an oversized ornament I made to hang from the ceiling instead of hanging on a tree. Aollection of three or four of these will make a fun display!
How to make a Minnie wreath:
Start out with three wire wreath frames and attach the “ears” securely with pipe cleaners in more than one spot. Â Make sure they are firm and don’t wobble. Â I used one 12 inch frame and two 8 inch frames.
Wrap the frame with inexpensive thin garland. Â Use garland that is not wired to wrap it easily. Â Secure with a wire or pipe cleaner. Â Finish wrapping and top with a red and white polka dot bow for a Minnie look!
Make several ornaments and hang them on your tree along with some Disney plush characters and fun colorful ribbons!

Chloe, how much fun you are having with all your creativity. I hope to tune in tonight…I know it will be wonderful!
Thank you Pam!
So cute! Hope to catch you on FB live!
First I didn’t know you lived on a Disney property. How fun! Your tutorial on making Mickey ornaments is amazing. I had no idea how to make them. Your choice of colors for the ornament you have shown is perfect. We got back home from Disneyland a few weeks ago and their Mickey with ornaments were not any more amazing than yours is. I am excited to check out the wreath and tree when they are ready.
I don’t really live on Disney property…it was Disney property at one time. Oh I LOVE Disneyland! I haven’t been for years! I will be sharing the wreath and the tree on the blog this week! You can see them now over on the Facebook video!
I absolutely love Disney & want to thank you for sharing how to bring the magic of MICKEY into my home.
Thank you so much Mary Jo! Merry Disney Christmas! I will be adding the DIY on the wreath and tree to the blog this week!
Cute Cute!
Where do I find more of your home talk videos? Love doing crafts. I really loved your bow you made. I have fibromyalgia and its really hard for me to make bows anymore. When I make big ones, I have to make them in several steps/layers because my fingers can’t hold all that ribbon. Where can I watch you bow making video? Also, im a MAJOR DISNEY FAN. Belong to the DVC, go just about every year for 2 wks or more and sometimes 2 a yr. Have a mentally retarded and physically handicapped sister who absolutely loves mickey, so we make sure its all about her. My license plate says 2DIZN3Y, so yes, a major DISNEY FAN. THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE. HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A FANTABULOUS NEW YEAR.
Wow Tammie, thanks for all your kind compliments! It is very difficult to tie bows holding that tight with fibromyalgia or arthritis. That is great that you get to come down to Disney World regularly, I am sure you sister loves it, and Disney does such a great job of accommodating handicapped guests. Here is the link to all of my FB videos. It should be easy for you to see the bow tying one there. For the Hometalk videos, I have shared them all on my Facebook page, you might just have to scroll through to find them. Here is my upcoming Hometalk schedule: December 23rd at 7 PM ET – after that it will be 1:00 PM ET every Friday through the first Friday in February for now.

Marilyn and family
Thank you Marilyn! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I would like to have just a tiny bit of your creativity. This is so pretty and my little grandson would absolutely flip if he had a tree like this! Come to think of it I can’t imagine who wouldn’t. You are doing so many fabulous things here Chloe and I’m really looking forward to what you have planned for the new year.
Oh my, thank you Sandra. It was really easy to put together! Years ago I decorated the kitchen table and that area for my kids for Christmas all in Disney. They loved it! I don’t know where the ideas keep coming from, but they do keep me up some nights!
I love Disney World! And go there every other year and always buy some ornaments in Disney Springs (the old Downtown Disney). Your ornaments are just as nice as the ones there! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Morwenna, and they are such a bargain to make yourself, too!
Oh my gosh Chloe! The Mickey ornament and Minnie wreath are so adorable. What great ideas! We took my 5 year old daughter to Disney in May, and she just loves everything Disney. I will definitely be trying out these crafts! Thanks for the inspiration!
