Make a Mardi Gras Wreath
I cam across these purple and green Christmas ornaments at 75% off. Hmmm, I thought, these are Mardi Gras colors, but where is the gold? One aisle over, I found garlands of gold beads at the same discount. Yeah! Time to create my Mardi Gras wreath.
Here is my creation. Don’t you think it looks like strings of Mardi Gras beads?
You begin with a styrofoam wreath and wrap it with wide ribbon, securing with hot glue or “s” pins.
Use a color of ribbon that coordinates with your wreath colors.
Begin gluing your ornaments on in a random pattern, but touching each other. Use hot glue for this.
This is how my wreath looked after just the purple ornaments had been attached.
Here is the wreath with the purple and green ornaments attached. After this, I just added the gold beads and I was done!
This was last year’s wreath. It looked a little crunched after being stored. Which one do you like better?
I would love to hear which wreath you like better! Let me know! Thanks!
So cute – and clever! I like BOTH wreaths, crunched or not!
Thanks Tim!
This is the first year that I am considering a Mardi Gras table and this super cute wreath is giving me lots of inspiration. Thank you!!!
Thanks for reading Sandra! I can’t wait to see your Mardi Gras table!
I love last years wreath with a little less clutter.
It is funny, Madalyn, I can never decide! Some years I like the fussy one and sometimes I go for the streamlined look!
