Old World Nautical Tablescape
These dishes displaying sailing ships and a map of the world were just perfect for a nautical tablescape. Â I had a plate rack hanging around and knew these would be perfect on the wall of my dining room. Â The combination of the color and the pattern seemed like the were made for my room. Â Of course, they don’t just have to hang on the wall, they can grace my table, too.

I didn’t have any napkin rings that would do justice to my table, so I decided to make them! Â
I had this decorative rope left over from my DIY Succulent planters, and thought it would be perfect! Â I cut the rope into 5 inch sections. Â I was able to cut mine with scissors, but it might require a knife if your rope is extremely thick. Â
I applied a large dollop of hot glue to the ends of the cut pieces of rope and held them together. Â …and yes, my fingers are red from another project I was working on! Â I held the pieces together until the glue was completely dried. Â If there were any loose ends of the rope, I glued them into place, also. Â Here you can see my DIY napkin rings in use. Â They added a nice nautical touch to the table for a few minutes of crafting and some simple rope and hot glue.
A glass float glistens in the sunlight tucked next to a piece of driftwood I found along the shores of Lake Erie. Â These pieces made for an easy to put together centerpiece.
This pattern of Royal Stafford Ocean dinnerware is available from Replacements. Â I was fortunate to find my pieces at Home Goods!
I love using nautical accents for my centerpiece.  I keep a big box of all of my nautical and coastal things when they aren’t being displayed somewhere in my home.  These monkey fist knots, some driftwood and a lantern nestled on a decorative fish net were perfect for this simple table.
What a lovely table to sit down to. Â Not too formal, not too fussy, simple raffia placemats were the right choice, no chargers required for this weeknight supper.
I will be sharing this at the following link parties: Â Tablescape Thursday
I love it, Chloe. From the napkin rings to the fishing floats and monkey knots to the plates…..it’s a perfect matchup to your theme.
Happy March!

I love nautical things. You’ve reminded me about some dishes I have that have a similar flair as yours. Love the DIY rope napkin rings and all the nautical accents.
Isn’t it fun to be reminded and dig out something you haven’t used in ages!
I love nautical anything, just like coastal….you must too! Such a pretty plate pattern, if it is at my Homegoods I may have to have it too! You know I try to stay away from there now. I want to stop collecting everything they sell because I love it all so much. Gorgeous table Chloe~
Thank you Debbie, I have been setting a lot of tables shopping my own cupboards, but I sure couldn’t resist these!

Funny thing is I did too at Homegoods two weeks ago. They are beautiful! I picked up the salad plates. Looking forward to styling a sailing/nautical table in a few months. Your tables are always amazing Chloe!
