A Patriotic Porch Tour

Patriotic Porch

I was so tickled when Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home spotted one of the pictures of my patriotic porch on Instagram and messaged me asking for me to join these other great bloggers as each has decorated their porches for Independence Day!  Let’s bring on the red, white and blue, the stars and stripes and sparklers and s’mores!  If you are coming from Petite Haus, welcome!   Welcome to my home, all decked out for the Fourth of July!  It is so much fun having my granddaughters here this year for the holiday, they have so much fun helping add flags to the potted plants on the front porch! This little decorative bird house is from my sister.  I think this was meant for a porch and yard sale, but somehow it has become a fixture on the front porch.  For my wreath this year, I just took a basic grapevine wreath and attached red geranium garland to it and dressed it with a multi-ribbon bow with extra long tails!

Stars and stripes can be found everywhere on my patriotic porch!  These little wooden stars are from the dollar spot at Target a couple of years ago!

A bowl of artificial magnolias lasts much longer than those I cut from my trees, and the girls loved adding all of the little flags to this, too!  I have been thinking this old wicker table needs to be painted again, but seeing it here, I kind of like the chippy finish.  I took this photo during one of our afternoon rain storms, see the rain between me and my neighbor’s house? This Uncle Sam was a new purchase this year and I adore him!  He will be pedaling away on the front porch when he isn’t on the dinner table!  This was the one new pillow I added this year!  The funniest thing is that my granddaughters pretend to be riding the bicycle by straddling the pillow and running up and down the porch!

I know I have WAY too many decorative pillows.  I really should just keep covers and switch them out, but I spot ones I like on sale and I can’t resist!  I love the throw I found a couple of years ago at Home Goods! The beautiful thing about my wrap around porch is this quiet and shady little corner is the perfect spot when you need a little down time!

Head on over to Belle Bleu Interiors and see what Shannon has done to get ready for the Fourth of July!

  1. Now that double chaise lounge is what I’m talkin’ about – with no one else but me and my magazines, books, snacks and yes, pillows! I love it all Chloe, and the story on your grandgirls riding the pillow is too funny. I thought what you mentioned as rain was fog between your home and your neighbor’s. It looks dreamy. Love all your patriotic details – a very appropriate nod and gesture to your family’s service (many thanks!).

  7. You have the cutest porch. I love the size. More houses should have real porches like yours. You’ve done such a great job with color and decor. So much so that I probably wouldn’t get off my fanny and get anything done. Excited to be on the tour with you!

  11. Oh, you’ve thrown me full force into the decorating mood now. I love, love, love your gorgeous porch! That chippy little birdhouse reminds me of a shabby chic planter I gave my mom not long before she passed away. I now have it and it remains in my stash of collected pieces I’ll one day get around to decorating with. I’m so inspired by your holiday decor and think I’ll bring it out, give it a fresh and distressed coat of paint, then add some vibrant green plants and deck it all out with flags. Thanks for the inspiration!
And, by the way, your topiaries are simply gorgeous!

    1. Thank you so much Karen! I guess you are going to be busy this week! Those topiaries came from Home Depot and I was sure I would kill them, but 6 months and going strong! Actually I have to trim them every couple of weeks to keep them in this shape!

  12. Wow!! this is beautiful! The big lounger with the striped cushion is the perfect spot!!! We would love to have you link up with us for Our Inspired Collection!

  15. Hi Chloe! I sure enjoyed your lovely patriotic porch decor! I could sip sweet tea on your beautiful porch all day long! Loved “hopping” with you!

    1. Thank you so much Pamela! I think I must just pray over them! I really thought I was losing them last year right after we planted them, the bottom ball on one of them looked like it was dying. I don’t know where you live, but here in Florida, I find I need to give mine a half gallon of water every day. That seems to have done the trick. Good luck with yours!
