A Patriotic Porch Tour
Patriotic Porch
I was so tickled when Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home spotted one of the pictures of my patriotic porch on Instagram and messaged me asking for me to join these other great bloggers as each has decorated their porches for Independence Day! Let’s bring on the red, white and blue, the stars and stripes and sparklers and s’mores! If you are coming from Petite Haus, welcome! Welcome to my home, all decked out for the Fourth of July! It is so much fun having my granddaughters here this year for the holiday, they have so much fun helping add flags to the potted plants on the front porch! This little decorative bird house is from my sister. I think this was meant for a porch and yard sale, but somehow it has become a fixture on the front porch. For my wreath this year, I just took a basic grapevine wreath and attached red geranium garland to it and dressed it with a multi-ribbon bow with extra long tails!
Stars and stripes can be found everywhere on my patriotic porch! These little wooden stars are from the dollar spot at Target a couple of years ago!
A bowl of artificial magnolias lasts much longer than those I cut from my trees, and the girls loved adding all of the little flags to this, too! I have been thinking this old wicker table needs to be painted again, but seeing it here, I kind of like the chippy finish. I took this photo during one of our afternoon rain storms, see the rain between me and my neighbor’s house? This Uncle Sam was a new purchase this year and I adore him! He will be pedaling away on the front porch when he isn’t on the dinner table! This was the one new pillow I added this year! The funniest thing is that my granddaughters pretend to be riding the bicycle by straddling the pillow and running up and down the porch!
I know I have WAY too many decorative pillows. I really should just keep covers and switch them out, but I spot ones I like on sale and I can’t resist! I love the throw I found a couple of years ago at Home Goods! The beautiful thing about my wrap around porch is this quiet and shady little corner is the perfect spot when you need a little down time!
Head on over to Belle Bleu Interiors and see what Shannon has done to get ready for the Fourth of July!
I will be sharing this at: Patriotic Party Link Up – Our Inspired Collection
Now that double chaise lounge is what I’m talkin’ about – with no one else but me and my magazines, books, snacks and yes, pillows! I love it all Chloe, and the story on your grandgirls riding the pillow is too funny. I thought what you mentioned as rain was fog between your home and your neighbor’s. It looks dreamy. Love all your patriotic details – a very appropriate nod and gesture to your family’s service (many thanks!).
Thank you so much Rita, yes, I have spent many an hour on that chaise! The grands actually call it Papa’s chair and love to curl up with him on the chaise. Thanks for stopping by! Happy 4th!
Wow, Chloe! This should be in a magazine!
Love the patriotic ribbon in your wreath and how you made it have extra long tails.
I am so impressed with your porch. Striking and well done.
Oh Bonnie, you are so sweet, if only! I couldn’t really get motivated to style a different wreath, but I knew I wanted those long tails! Thank you for your kind complements and thank your for stopping by!
Hey Chloe, Your porch is so lovely and festive–what fun to have your Grands there for the holiday! Mine is coming for a 2 week visit soon and I can hardly wait! Happy to be participating in the tour with you! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
Oh, Cecilia, enjoy those grands, they are the best ever, aren’t they? Happy 4th!
Oh to have a porch like that! I am loving your wreath, Chloe. I agree with Bonnie that those long tails really add to the wreath. Having a porch like yours is a dream!
Thank you so much Stacey, I had no idea how much I would enjoy this porch, but my hubby and I spend hours sitting out their in the evenings!
How cute Chloe! I love your Uncle Sam! I haven’t done our porches yet, I need to get busy! The is a community 4th of July parade that starts near our house, so everyone decorates!
I just finished my porch up in time for this hop, in between the rain storms! Oh, how fun to have the parade start near your home! I bet the entire street must be very festive! Thank you for stopping by!
Fabulous Chloe! I knew you would have a perfect patriotic porch to share for this tour! You have such fun and creative patriotic decor and displays. I love all your pillows and your wreath is amazing! The little bird house and all your patriotic accessories are darling!
Thank you for joining us for the tour. Have a great summer!
Oh my, thank you so much Amber! Thank you especially for reaching out and inviting me to join this hop and for all of the effort you put into organizing this hop! This has been really fun and I have discovered some great new blogs! Happy 4th!
What a happy front porch. I adore your bunting! I couldn’t resist that sweet Uncle Same either. Great minds…
Thank you Laura! He is just so cute, I couldn’t leave the store without him either! Happy 4th!
Chloe, I always love your porch, but the addition of the patriotic touches is perfect! I agree with Rita, the double chaise would be wonderful to relax and read. The bicycle pillow is too cute and I love the story of your granddaughters!
Thank you so much Pam, we really enjoy spending time out there, especially when it is raining! Oh those girls are too much! They do make me laugh!
Chloe, I adore your front porch! It looks so relaxing and inviting – I’d fall right to sleep on your double chaise lounge! And your Uncle Sam on a bicycle is just too cute!
Thank you so much Michelle! My husband loves to nap on that lounger!
You have the cutest porch. I love the size. More houses should have real porches like yours. You’ve done such a great job with color and decor. So much so that I probably wouldn’t get off my fanny and get anything done. Excited to be on the tour with you!
Thank you so much Cindy! I am really fortunate to live in a great community where most of the homes have porches. It always surprises me how few people sit out on their porches. I do love my porch time!
Love it love the patriotic theme .I too am a Crabtree (maiden) name thanks
Thank you Brenda! Mine is a family name, too, not my married name. Our Crabtrees are from southern Ohio, where is your family from? Perhaps we are related!
Chloe, you have done a wonderful job on your porch! Everything looks absolutely beautiful! I agree with Bonnie. It does belong in a magazine!!! It has been so much fun being on this tour with you!!!
Thank you Shannon! A great porch makes it easy to decorate, and oh, you ladies, if only a magazine would love to come and photograph it, that would be a dream come true! Happy 4th!
Your patriotic porch is perfect! I love all of your pillows and that sweet spot for relaxing. I have always loved wicker, although I don’t have a lot of it. I think it’s the perfect summertime furniture! I can picture your grands running up and down the porch with that bicycle pillow between their legs. Puts a smile on my face! Happy to meet you through this tour!
hugs,
Jann
Thank you so much Jann! We bought all of that wicker (faux) last year from Pier One Imports and have really enjoyed it! Those girls put a smile on my face, too! It was so great to discover your bog and hop with you!
Your front porch is so lovely!! It looks like such a nice place to sit and relax! I love all of your patriotic touches!
Thank you so much Angelina, my hubby and I really enjoy spending time in the evening out there! Happy 4th and thank you for stopping by!
ohh, I am sooo jealous that you have a wrap around porch! Absolutely gorgeous!!! Your porch looks so cozy and inviting. So glad to join you on this tour! Have a great 4th! Heather @ Beauty For Ashes Home
Thank you so much Heather, I never thought I would have a porch like this! We enjoy it almost every evening! It was so nice to hop with you!
Oh, you’ve thrown me full force into the decorating mood now. I love, love, love your gorgeous porch! That chippy little birdhouse reminds me of a shabby chic planter I gave my mom not long before she passed away. I now have it and it remains in my stash of collected pieces I’ll one day get around to decorating with. I’m so inspired by your holiday decor and think I’ll bring it out, give it a fresh and distressed coat of paint, then add some vibrant green plants and deck it all out with flags. Thanks for the inspiration!
And, by the way, your topiaries are simply gorgeous!
Thank you so much Karen! I guess you are going to be busy this week! Those topiaries came from Home Depot and I was sure I would kill them, but 6 months and going strong! Actually I have to trim them every couple of weeks to keep them in this shape!
Another job well done. Chloe everything looks absolutely inspiring. Happy Independence Day!
Thank you so much Edmee! Happy 4th to you, and thank you so much for stopping by!
Wow!! this is beautiful! The big lounger with the striped cushion is the perfect spot!!! We would love to have you link up with us for Our Inspired Collection!
Thank you so much Haley! I headed over and linked up! Thank you for the invite!
Looks beautiful Chloe! Love the flags wrapping the pillars and your beautiful patio furniture! I bet your neighborhood looks so cute this time of year with all of the pitches done up for Summer & the 4th!
I would be happy all day right on that chaise Chloe!! Your porch looks beautiful! I’m inspired by that big bow with long tails! I love the wicker chairs and throw pillows too! I don’t think it’s possible to have too many! 🙂
Hi Chloe! I sure enjoyed your lovely patriotic porch decor! I could sip sweet tea on your beautiful porch all day long! Loved “hopping” with you!
Kelly
Thank you so much Kelly! I really enjoyed this hop, too!
Chloe,
Your porch is stunning! This tour has totally inspired me to decorate like this more often! So pretty for summer and festive. That bicycle pillow is adorable!! XO
Thank you so much Christy, I find it fun to switch up the decor on the front porch for the seasons! It has been great to hop with you!!
I miss your live demos more than you could ever know! Any chance you might put some on YouTube?
Thank you so much Jeanne. The numbers had really fallen off with so many people going LIVE on Facebook. I have put some on YouTube and plan to add more there.
Chloe everything looks amazing! How do you keep your topiaries looking so good? I have a pair and am struggling to keep them from growing here and there. I love your chaise lounge!
Thank you so much Pamela! I think I must just pray over them! I really thought I was losing them last year right after we planted them, the bottom ball on one of them looked like it was dying. I don’t know where you live, but here in Florida, I find I need to give mine a half gallon of water every day. That seems to have done the trick. Good luck with yours!
