Seafood Dinner Party Tablescape
We all need a little fun in these dreary days of January so I decided to host a seafood feast and found these cute dishes to celebrate with a Seafood Festival Tablescape! I know this seems more like a summertime dinner, but with fresh and fresh frozen seafood available year round there is no reason why you can’t host a dinner like this in January. It is so exciting to once again be setting my beautiful watable from Wayfair! This is a casual dinner with friends, so I really didn’t want to put a cloth on the table and hide that great driftwood looking tabletop, which was perfect for this dinner.
My husband is a big fisherman, but he doesn’t eat fish, but he loves shrimp and lobster, so I will be serving those and crab legs for the crab aficionados. I found these cute plates at Home Goods and they just looked like so much fun.
This was an easy and simple tablescape with a simple centerpiece of a decorative sailboat and a few monkey fist knots. I wanted to keep the table simple since I will be serving all of the food family style. This should leave ample space on the tabletop for all of the serving pieces.
This little crab is so fun, I am going to make sure I have lots of wedges of lemons available for my guests to use on their shellfish just like this little crab is holding his lemon wedge.
The flatware I used is the Ikea flatware I have been using for quite a few tablescapes lately. It really is a nice change from stainless handled flatware or silverware and so much more casual. Napkins and glasses were more Home Goods finds. You can see the same jute placemats and flatware used back in December for my Reindeer Tablescape for Christmas. These red and white napkins are a staple of mine and can be used for so many holidays, Valentine’s, Fourth of July and Christmas with their bright red and white stripes. The glasses are simple tumblers that fit into these fun rattan holders. Again, I know they kind of say, “SUMMER”, but I don’t care, they also said “casual seafood dinner” to me! I hope you enjoyed this little taste of seafood fun and my cute little crab dishes! I would love to hear how you like to entertain during the Winter, so take a minute and leave me a message!

This gives me hope for warmer days! I like the idea of serving family style and scaling back the table decor.
Sometimes it is nice to let the food be the decoration, isn’t it, Sandra?
Looks wonderful and sounds delicious! Love those plates…
Thanks Bev, I think it will be a fun dinner!
Cute and clever – as always! I kinda’ hate that you are so dang creatove, LOL!

Thank you Jenna, it is fun, isn’t it?
A seafood dinner is my favorite, and I would enjoy it even more at your adorable table. Great find on the plates.
Dreaming of Florida weather right now! It’s cold and dreary here. I love the crab plates. My zodiac sign is cancer so I usually gravitate toward the crab!
Oh Dawn! I am loving the weather! I have seen those crabs at several Home Goods in my search for the perfect lamps for the house! Thanks for stopping by!
Loving this table. The way the plates are playing off the dinnerware….just stunning!
Dear Chloe:
Lovely table and the plates couldn’t be more perfect! Great fun and thanks for linking.
