Should You Invite Birds to the Table?

When I saw these beautiful pheasant salad plates, I knew they would be finding their way to my house.  These are the perfect for Fall aren’t they?  I found them on sale at Pottery Barn one early November.  It was a little late for me to use them last year, but I knew when I got my dishes out of storage these would set a pretty Fall table.  We invite turkey to the table for Thanksgiving, so why not invite these pretty little pheasants to the table too?

I love the combination of the chargers and the dishes, both with the pine cones and pine needles on them.  I chose these wood handled flatware to keep the natural look on the cherry table.

I am so happy to have gotten rid of those yellow walls, my home has come a long way since then!

Pheasant Inspired Fall Table with a DIY Centerpiece

Do you like the centerpiece?  I made this myself and you can see how easy it is to create this yourself right here.   I was so happy to reuse the collection of pheasant feathers that I purchased and used for last year’s centerpiece.  You can see the magnolia leaf and pheasant feather centerpiece here.  That one was so large that I needed to remove it for dining, but the way I set this table, an oversized centerpiece is not blocking anyone’s view.  Which one of the centerpieces do you like best?

A Fall Tablescape Inspired by Pheasant Dishes

Even with the incredibly hot weather we have still had here in Florida, I was ready to set a pretty Fall Tablescape.

I hadn’t selected a dining table when I styled this in the family room,  so I was using my grandmother’s cherry drop-leaf table along with a pair of Restoration Hardware chairs and a pair of twig chairs.  Do you like different chairs at a table or do you prefer them to all match?
