Should You Invite Birds to the Table?
When I saw these beautiful pheasant salad plates, I knew they would be finding their way to my house. Â These are the perfect for Fall aren’t they? Â I found them on sale at Pottery Barn one early November. Â It was a little late for me to use them last year, but I knew when I got my dishes out of storage these would set a pretty Fall table. Â We invite turkey to the table for Thanksgiving, so why not invite these pretty little pheasants to the table too?
I love the combination of the chargers and the dishes, both with the pine cones and pine needles on them. Â I chose these wood handled flatware to keep the natural look on the cherry table.
I am so happy to have gotten rid of those yellow walls, my home has come a long way since then!
Do you like the centerpiece?  I made this myself and you can see how easy it is to create this yourself right here.  I was so happy to reuse the collection of pheasant feathers that I purchased and used for last year’s centerpiece.  You can see the magnolia leaf and pheasant feather centerpiece here.  That one was so large that I needed to remove it for dining, but the way I set this table, an oversized centerpiece is not blocking anyone’s view.  Which one of the centerpieces do you like best?
Even with the incredibly hot weather we have still had here in Florida, I was ready to set a pretty Fall Tablescape.
I hadn’t selected a dining table when I styled this in the family room, so I was using my grandmother’s cherry drop-leaf table along with a pair of Restoration Hardware chairs and a pair of twig chairs.  Do you like different chairs at a table or do you prefer them to all match?
I love the centerpiece with the pheasant feathers! I’m a little behind in getting my fall decorations out because I just had many rooms in my home repainted. Your table setting puts me in the fall mood and I love the clever title of this post 🙂
Thanks Dawn, I bought and used those feathers with the magnolia leaves last year, so it was a natural this year! My painters arrive on October 5th, I can’t wait!
Love the centerpiece Chloe! and the peasant plates are so fall perfect! you are so smart and patient to wait until they went on sale, gorgeous table~
Thanks Jenna, it sure took some self control and crossed fingers that they would still be available!
Oh my goodness this is a beautiful table. Very rustic, very fall and very inviting! I love this centerpiece and look forward to your tutorial. I picked up a bunch of pheasant feathers while thrifting last week and have no idea what to do with them. May I ask where you found the flatware, it is very pretty.
Thanks Sandra, Hang onto those feathers, I will be sharing that tutorial soon. Right now I am on my way to France for my son’s wedding! I found the flatware at IKEA! Can you believe it? This year, so it should be available still!
Of course you should invite birds to such a BEAUTIFUL tablescape. This table is done to perfection. Stunning and very classy. I love your plate stack! Thanks for sharing.
