Carrots and Cabbage and Tulips for a Spring Tablescape

What is more suited to a Spring Tablescape than carrots and cabbage and tulips?  How about some soft little bunnies holding your napkin at the ready?  I am so please to have gathered twenty nine talented bloggers to share their Spring Tablescapes this week.  Come along on the hop, if you aren’t joining us from one of the others, it is easy!  Just click on a link at the bottom of the page and you and our little bunnies can hop along from blog to blog touring all of these lovely blogs!

Spring Tablescape

Although I have way too many dishes, I don’t more than a couple of sets that are large enough to serve more than four or six.  For Easter this year I will have seven or eight.  These fruit embellished pink dinner plates are ones I picked up in Reading, Pennsylvania more than thirty years ago.  I don’t know where I got the little opaque pink salad or dessert plates, perhaps I picked those up at the same time.  Spring Tablescape Did you see my little dollar store plush bunny wreath?  Bunnies tend to multiply and I have so many that I decided they needed to grace my Springtime table, too!  I found these fun plaid napkins at Target!  Pioneer Woman flatware in soft gray seemed like the perfect flatware for this pastel dominated place setting.  Spring Tablescape I really don’t like to sew, but stitching together the paws of the bunnies was well within my skill level.

Spring Tablescape After stitching the paws together, it was easy to roll up a napkin and pull it up through their arms.  Easy as can be, I have Easter bunny napkin rings!  Spring Tablescape Now, why am I showing you this picture of my front yard?  I REALLY wanted to use some of these decorative cabbages in my centerpiece for my table, but my husband planted these and was so proud of how they grew he said ‘no’.  Finally this past Sunday he did say it was time for them to be replaced and I could cut what I wanted.  Spring Tablescape It is hard to argue that these cabbages look beautiful tucked into my white planter box along with carrots, brussel sprouts, tulips and daisies.Spring Tablescape With my table setting being special, my centerpiece is really the icing on the cake of this tablescape.  Spring Tablescape As much as I love my centerpiece, I am afraid that the one cabbage in the middle is a little large for dining at the table.  For show, this will do, but for dining, I think platters of food will have to replace my centerpiece.  I hope you will take the time to check out all of the other bloggers participating in the blog hop.  Just click on the links below to see the tablescapes by these talented bloggers.

  3. Wow, Chloe, you’ve really got the touch when it comes to centerpieces. That is gorgeous! I had to laugh at your teasing fate with your husband’s garden – too funny. Love your self-deprecating comment on sewing. I was beginning to think there was nothing in the creative world you couldn’t handle with finesse. Truth is, there are several alternatives to sewing now such that no one need be an ace seamstress to make great results. You’ve knocked another blog hop out of the park – thank you so much! Happy Spring.
