Thanksgiving Table for Six

Thanksgiving Table

This year’s Thanksgiving table will only be for six.  After having had my daughter, son in law and dear granddaughters here for seven weeks, it will be sad not to have them with us, but they will be having their first Thanksgiving in their new home in New Jersey or joining my son and daughter in law over in Manhattan for a meal.  My hubby and I will be sitting down with my Mom and Dad and my niece and great nephew.  It will be a small group, but I am thankful that we can gather together to share this meal.Thanksgiving tablescapeI selected muted fall flowers from my stash of faux flowers and incorporated some little faux pumpkins and gourds.  Thanksgiving tablescapeA kraft paper runner rolled out on the table with hemp placemats tucked beneath each of my pinecone embossed chargers.  Thanksgiving tablescapeThose chargers are Better Homes and Gardens brand from Walmart.  They complement my pinecone dishes (from Target several years ago) so well, you would almost think they were sold together!  Thanksgiving tablescapeMixing up the cloth napkins added a casual bent to my table.  Wooden handled flatware from Ikea seemed to partner with the natural elements.  This end of the table features an cream colored artichoke vase filled with some of my faux fall florals.  I tucked more of the florals, gourds and pumpkins down the center of the table, stopping short before the middle place setting.  Thanksgiving tablescapeThe other end of my table is flanked with Mr. Tom, my turkey from Home Goods.  Thanksgiving tablescapeA metal sign that simply says, “gather” connects the two halves of my centerpiece to one another, just as gathering is a way to connect our family and friends together.Thanksgiving tablescapeAbove is a photo of the back of my metal sign, with the ends just tucked into a piece of styrofoam.  I just used some of my faux flowers and vegetables to hide the styrofoam.  Thanksgiving tablescapeI hope you have the opportunity to gather with friends or family or co-workers or someone this Thursday, to sit and give thanks for all of your blessings.  I know I have been blessed beyond belief in this past year.  I try to be thankful each day, but will be especially thankful through the rest of this holiday season and the remainder of 2017.  Thanksgiving tablescape
