Welcome Guests with a New Year’s Eve Greeting

I am back home from visiting family and ready to host a New Year’s Eve party!  I want to greet guests immediately, so I am creating a New Year’s Eve wreath that can stay up through January.  I love black and white and silver and gold for New Year’s but I wanted a pop of color this year and went with pink.  No mistaking this front door decor for leftover Christmas!

I returned to one of my favorites, my Ikea Drill frame, this time painted silver.This frame is so beautiful when painted with metallic spray paint, it certainly doesn’t look like the plastic that it is made from.  

After painting the frame with metallic silver spray paint, I attached a six foot marabou garland to the center part of the frame attaching it with white chenille stems.  I began with the string the marabou was on and just found spots in the frame where I could wire it securely.  When you finish securing the marabou, the back of your frame should look something like this.  I cut all of my chenille stems in half and only used a half each place I secured it to the frame.  

At this point it is looking quite wintery, isn’t it?  I will likely switch this over to a winter wreath in a week or so.  

These are my wooden numbers before I painted them.  I was trying to decide how I would add them to the wreath.  I would choose lighter weight or thinner numbers in the future.  I also didn’t want to glue them to the frame since I like to re-use it for different occasions.  

I secured a wide pink glittery ribbon like a sash down the center of the frame and used hot glue to secure the numbers to the ribbon.  

A wooden word, Celebrate, was sprayed black too!  After all, isn’t that what we are doing?  Celebrating the end of one year and the hope of the next!At this point, it certainly needs it’s bow!  

There we go!  All ready to hang on the front door to greet guests!
