A Sparkly Winter Tablescape

Nothing about this holiday season is the way things used to be. Certainly there will be no New Year’s Eve gatherings with a glittery New Year’s Eve tablescape. That doesn’t mean I can’t set a pretty table with all of the glitter and sparkle!

A piece of silver fabric from the discounted remnants section was better than any tablecloth I could have found. This sets the scene for the glitter and sparkle!

This is such an easy table to style! After the silver fabric, silver chargers from Dollar Tree were the base for simple white dinner plates. White dinner plates are so utilitarian.

These silver salad plates tend to come out every winter. They add nice bling for a festive table.

Here you can see the same white dinner plates and silver salad plates in a previously styled tablescape. You can see more of this table at A Cozy Winter Tablescape.

Combined with a deep red charger, those same salad plates were paired with the silver embellished dinner plates and appetizer plates. This was from a romantic Valentine’s Table for Two I once set. You can see how mixing and matching your dishes, you can come up with different looks.

The centerpiece for this glittering table is SO easy that anyone can do it! I simply picked up two silver garlands (on sale!). I cut them apart and used a small piece on the table top. The other garland and a half were hung from the chandelier. One six inch disco ball, a pair of four inch ones and a package of six 1.8 inch balls were ordered direct from Amazon.

I nestled the disco balls among the garland and sprinkled some faux diamond crystals across the tablecloth. Finally, I added some battery operated fairy lights.

Simple silver and white striped napkins are all that are needed to finish off each place setting. To add a little more sparkle, I tied them with some silver ribbon from my Christmas wrapping supplies.

I hope you have a happy and safe Christmas and a Happy New Year. Even if it is just one or two of you, set a festive table and raise a glass to a better 2021!

  1. Looks wonderful! Can you share how you used the fabric remnent? Does seem to drop over the edge as most tablecloths would. Is it attached on the bottom side of the table? Did you cut it in a circle? Thanks.
