What I Love Wednesday

What I Love Wednesday

I am busy working on some more major plans for my house, woodwork, bathroom renovations and so on.  That means I am busy scouring blogs and Pinterest for ideas.  You have been there, haven’t you?  Even if you aren’t planning on an upcoming project,  it is fun to dream, isn’t it?

One of the upcoming projects is board and batten walls in our little studio/guest room.  Taking some time to browse my favorite blogs is the best thing for inspiration.  Twelve on Main shared her DIY board and batten wall and a nice how to I will be referring to as I take on my new project.

Every bathroom in my house is ugly standard builder’s grade and I can only hope my projects turn out as perfect as Roeshell’s over at DIY Show Off.  You can follow along with all of her home before and afters!

This is my dad with his great granddaughters.  He still has a little eyesight, but is losing it to macular degeneration.  I love my daddy and I am so glad he lives right in the backyard so I can see him anytime I want.  We can laugh about things, like him coming out and telling me that my Christmas decorations on the front porch look beautiful and I can respond, “nice to know the blind man thinks it looks good”!

Okay, now how about this sink?  OH, this sink!  I found this image on Andymayberry.com, but I have no idea whose kitchen this is  This is likely a vintage sink that has been used.  WHEN we get around to our kitchen I will search high and low for a sink like this!  If any of you know where I could find one of these…pass it on!

How could I let a post about what I love go by with out adding these two?  Yes, I love these granddaughters, but you know what I REALLY love?  Look at their hands.  No one told them to hold hands, they just did.  They love each other so much, almost every photo of them together is of them holding hands or hugging.  What joy there is in having a sister that you feel that close to.

I am closing out today’s loves with this dreamy kitchen.  Everything about this kitchen calls me.  My  dining table won’t ever be in the kitchen like this but the ceiling, the cabinetry, the tile backsplash, all of it has me swooning.  It is so fun to dream about a future kitchen, isn’t it?  What are you loving this week?  I would love to know!

  1. Chloe, you have chosen some beautiful inspiration photos. But your dad with his great granddaughters is so precious and then the two of them holding hands is priceless. They are dolls!

  2. Sara not only did a fine job of the board and batten, but her use of the vertical space in her home is terrific! Love the sink, too, Chloe. Oh my, your grand girls are just so full of girl power! I love that picture of the two of them, and such a sweet one with your dad with them.
I am loving all things transitional in style these days, and taking a hard look at some of our furnishings while gazing across Pinterest boards featuring a nice mix of modern traditional with a dash of vintage! Something like Art Deco meets 21st Century. 😉

    1. Thank you so much Rita, I do treasure moments with family. I am interested in what you decide upon for furniture styles. I do appreciate so many different styles, myself. I feel so fortunate to be able to decorate my house in traditional coastal style and my condo in modern. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Love your little girls Chloe…so precious and the pic with great grand dad is priceless….and I love your sense of humor with your dad…that is priceless too.
Now let us talk inspiration and kitchens. funny you should be thinking of a remodel as so are we. Everyone thinks I am crazy when I say I want to update my kitchen but it really does need tweaking. for instance, I still have that ugly ceiling hanging divider that so many older homes in Florida have. You know the one with pot lights and columns? Yucky and I can’t wait to be rid of it and so many other dated elements. We shall keep in touch with yours and my updates. Mine will be slow for sure. Hugs my friend.

  4. The picture of your dad with the girls is so heartwarming and I love how they love each other. Great inspiration photos and I’m swooning over that kitchen as well.

  5. Chloe, I keep hearing an for Systems of Sight for people with macular degeneration. Their home office is in Orlando. Hope this helps.
