I used a scrap of styrofoam that I had on hand. The piece was about 2 1/2 inches deep, by 5 inches wide and 12 inches long. I fed a wire through the block of styrofoam and bent the ends into a circle to make a hanger to hang onto my Command Hook on the front door.

Make sure where you pull the wire through the styrofoam, that you put something between the wire and the foam. I just put a piece of a pipe cleaner there as shown below. If you don’t do that, the wire could pull all the way through the styrofoam, cutting through it.

With my piece of foam hung up, I was ready to begin making my swag.

I wanted this to be really large and showy on my door, so I began by adding some hanging pieces of black picks and some black glitter branches. They should poke right into your foam to be secure.

The next step was to take down and lay my styrofoam face down on a work table. I used two Dollar Tree spider webs and secured them to the styrofoam with greening pins.

Use several greening pins in as many spots as you can to make sure your spider webs stay secure.

This is how the swag looks now with the webs added.

I took a small craft pumpkin and cut it in half. On each half I drew a jack 0′ lantern face.

I used a wood burning tool to cut out the faces I had drawn onto each half.

This is what I had at this point.

I also made sure that I made two small holes on each side of each jack o’ lantern face.

I fed a wire through the hole as shown below. You will want at least a 21, if not an 18 weight wire. I also find the paper wrapped wires do a little better job of sticking in the foam.

I painted the outline of my cut out faces with black acrylic paint and stuck the ends of the wires into the foam.

Next, I added black flowers and leaves around the faces. You can add whatever Halloween picks you want to your swag.

Make sure you look at your swag from the edges and cover up and of the foam that is showing with the black foliage.

Scrunch up the ribbon and using a wood wired stick, wrap the wire securely around the ribbon AND at least once around the stick to be able to secure it into your swag.

Black and white ribbon was the next addition! I added an assortment of loops and tails, so you don’t have to worry about adding any actual bows to this swag.

Now you have a fun and showy black and white Halloween Swag to display on your front door.
