Island Style Entertaining

Summertime in Florida is sweltering and has me dreaming of island life, with a cool breeze and a dip in the ocean. What better time than now to think about entertaining with a breezy island theme.

You can’t go wrong with a few staples in your entertaining supplies for tropical entertaining themed occasions. These monstera leaf placemats have been used over and over again for a number of events. These don’t have to be only used as placemats, they can be overlapped and make a fun table runner for a buffet table as well!

When going tropical, bring on the botanicals! No roses or carnations here, this calls for fun and brightly colored ginger, birds of paradise, heliconia, tropical leaves, pineapples, coconuts and bananas! If you want to keep it simple, just add leaves to oversized demijohn jars or various sized bottles!

Search out creative plates for your table! I found this set of tropical bird plates at Anthropologie. They certainly added to the jungle-like feel of my table.
