A Fresh Season at Celebrate & Decorate

Yes, I’ve been absent for a while. Hard to believe, but I started blogging back in 2012! Can you imagine?

Back then, blogging was simple and joyful — a way to share my seasonal décor, creative projects, and the inspiration that filled my home. I’ve always loved decorating, so much so that I even went “back to college” to study interior design. When my children were grown, blogging became a wonderful outlet — something meaningful to pour my creativity into during the empty nest season of life. Along the way, I’ve met the most wonderful people and made dear friends who share that same love of home and beauty.

But after all these years, the online world has changed so much. The algorithms that once helped people find our blogs now seem to work against us. Somewhere along the way, the joy faded — replaced by the constant expectation to “do it all,” to chase numbers on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. What once felt like a creative adventure began to feel like a command performance.

Somewhere in that realization came a quiet pause — a reminder of why I began in the first place. I didn’t start this journey for algorithms or numbers; I started it because creating and sharing brought me joy. So, instead of chasing trends, I’m choosing to return to what fills my heart: styling spaces that feel welcoming, crafting beautiful tables, and celebrating the seasons in ways that inspire connection and happiness at home.

Going forward, things may look a little different around here. I may not post as often as I once did, but I’ll still be here — sharing glimpses of my life, new ideas, and the holiday and seasonal décor that continues to bring me joy. I’ll keep creating when inspiration strikes, answering your questions, and offering my favorite finds and tools for decorating and entertaining. My hope is that this space feels more personal again — a place to slow down, connect, and celebrate the beauty of home without the rush or pressure of “keeping up.”

After all, that’s what this space has always been about — celebrating home, creativity, and the simple joys that make life beautiful. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding your way to Celebrate & Decorate, I’m so grateful you’re here. Thank you for reading, for your kind messages, and for being part of this wonderful community. I hope you’ll continue to stop by, find inspiration, and share in the joy of making every season — and every day — something special.

  4. I would like to thank you for sharing all of your wonderful ideas. I have been here since the beginning and am so happy you still do a blog. Instagram and TikTok are not the same as a blog and I love a blog, it is easy to return and review the content. Please keep posting your creative seasonal ideas. Thanks again.

    1. Thank you so much Myrna! I am so grateful for all of the tips and guidance you have given me as we have gotten him settled in assisted living. We did have a 2 day visit to the hospital recently, but he is good as ever! Hugs!

  7. Good for you! Life’s too short to feel that pressure to produce…especially at this point in our life. Love all that you share

  8. I agree Chloe, we need to do what makes us happy. If that means scaling back and decorating the way your heart desires, do it. You shouldn’t have to follow the trends to have a YouTube channel. I love watching you create.

  9. I certainly will still follow you Chloe. I never joined IG, and am glad for that decision. Create for yourself. We will still love what you choose to do. Happy November. New month, new approach.

  10. Chloe I salute your new decision and direction! I feel exactly what you are saying here. Chasing the ever elusive algorithm takes both the joy and the originality out of the whole creative process! It actually kills creativity rather than supports it. I was following your blog before and enjoy it so much, I’m here for it!!!
