Hydrangeas in shades of green are perfect for an alfresco table set among the trees and hedges of my small backyard.

I spotted this white ceramic parrot at Home Goods and it spoke to me. I have had this tablescape in mind for several weeks now. The fresh white with the touches of green are just what is needed for a sultry summer evening.

Placemats and table runner from Hester and Cook with the green lattice pattern are perfect for summer.

The setting is as beautiful as the table. Set among blooming magnolia trees adn a hedge of variegated podocarpus.

The place settings I selected for the table are simple white. You can get the same look with any unique white porcelain chargers, white dinner plates and white salad plates. These are the openwork dinner plates that are similar to the chargers and salad plates I used.

Casual cane wrapped glassware is something I bring out to use often in the summertime. These are the perfect complement to this tablescape set out in nature.

The tropical white candlesticks were a find at Anthropologie earlier this year. Sometimes I forget that Anthropologie carries some gorgeous items for setting a special tabletop.

In the Florida summer heat, there is no way to keep cut hydrangeas from wilting so I opted for artificial hydrangeas in two shades of green for this table. (psss…they won’t attract bees either)

The white square vases I used for my centerpieces are something I have had for years. I did find some similar ones I linked in sources at the end of this post. These are so versatile, they are great for elevating serving plates for a buffet!

So, what makes this the perfect alfresco table (at least in my opinion)? The fresh green and white set among a small courtyard of greenery, casual elements like paper placemats and a paper table runner along with white plates with embellished edges on them make this a table anyone can enjoy sitting down to on a sultry summer evening.
As we wrap up this tour of my green and white alfresco tablescape, I hope you feel inspired to bring this serene and sophisticated look to your own outdoor gatherings. The combination of lush green hydrangeas, elegant white ceramics, and natural textures like rattan and bamboo creates a setting that is both timeless and refreshing. Whether you’re hosting a casual brunch or an intimate dinner, this setup is sure to impress your guests and make your occasion truly special. Thank you for joining me in exploring this tranquil design. Until next time, happy decorating and enjoy your alfresco dining experiences!

Thank you for reading along this far! I hope you have enjoyed the first in my new series through the alphabet! Make sure you come back next week and see what I have planned for the letter “B”!
