Gifts for those who like to Celebrate and Decorate

The holidays are coming, and I am turning my attention to shopping for gifts for friends and family.  So many of us really don’t NEED much in the way of THINGS.  I love to give unique gifts and I also like to give gifts of food at the holidays, as you know those are things that will be used and appreciated.  Today, I am bringing you some ideas for unique fits that will be appreciated by those on your gift list that also like to “Celebrate and Decorate”.

Sea Salt Flakes

Flaked Sea Salt

Flaked sea salt is the finest of all of the sea salts.  The cook on your gift list would love to use this for flavoring in the kitchen.  I intend to use flaked sea salt when making a salted-caramel sauce for desserts this holiday season.  You can find sea salts at gourmet stores and websites and upscale grocery stores.

The Flavor Bible

This wonderful book will give you all kinds of ideas to getting creative with flavors in the kitchen.  Not just another recipe book, this book makes a nice gift for your favorite foodie.

Nordic Ware Ebelskiver filled-Pancake Pan

A beloved treat in their native Denmark, ebelskivers are light, puffy pancakes that can be filled with fruit, chocolate, jam or cheese and served for breakfast or as an hors d’oeuvre, dessert or light supper. The pancakes are easy to prepare at home.   If you are lucky, the person you gift this to will create some of these heavenly treats for you!

Modern Square PlatterDoes someone on your list have a modern home.  This unique open-weave platter makes a lovely gift that they would be happy to display.  I discovered this unique piece on Shapeways.com.

Vetiver & juniperberry Triple milled soap

If your gift recipient loves her home, she will love receiving some lovely soaps.  You can buy some lovely triple-milled soap for her bath, or some lovely shaped gift soaps for the powder room.  This soap is from Crabtree & Evelyn.

Soap Petals in a Jar

These soap petals in a jar from  Gianna Rose Atelier are perfect for the powder room.

Keep in mind when buying for someone that is into their home and kitchen, that they probably have definitive ideas about what to add to their home or kitchen.  Consumable gifts like food, soaps, and candles are always a good choice.  Happy shopping!
