On my recent trip to New York City I totally stumbled upon the MacKenzie-Childs store on West 57th Street. You may not think you are familiar with MacKenzie-Childs, but my guess is when you look at these whimsical pieces, you will remember having seen these in the past. MacKenzie-Childs creations might be a little wild for you, but I think anyone can incorporate a piece of MacKenzie-Childs artwork into their home.
You might not want to add this dining table to your home, but even I can appreciate the artistry in this piece. This says “farmhouse” in a way no ordinary farmhouse table ever will. I spotted these gorgeous dishes in the 57th Street stores and would love to have brought them home. These are so dreamy, I am not sure I would even want to cover up any of the beautiful patterns with food!
I was wowed by this Easter wreath I spotted in the store and now my mind is racing over all of the ideas I have for creating MacKenzie-Childs themed wreaths, and swags, and centerpieces!
I may not be able to afford an entire set of those gorgeous dishes right now, but these placemats from MacKenzie-Childs just might find there way to my table! You can get this set on Amazon!
I am not a tea drinker, but the whimsical teapots are so amazing, I am tempted to get one just to brighten my stovetop! After all, who wouldn’t love shopping at MacKenzie-Childs more than the Mad Hatter for a tea party? Oh what fun it would be to have these delightful dishes to set tables with! That ruffled-edge plate has me swooning!
The ornate tassels have always been one of my favorite MacKenzie-Childs decorations. I think I will have to keep my eye out for one that would work on the armoire in my bedroom. I don’t have a lot of patterns in there, so one of these could work! The tassels are so pretty, you could just hang them on a hook for decorative accent anywhere!
My absolute favorite of MacKenzie-Childs creations is their tuffets and footstools! These are so much fun! Perhaps some creative painting is in my future! I hope you have enjoyed this peek through the MacKenzie-Childs New York showroom as much as I have enjoyed sharing it with you!
That bunny wreath is just sooo adorable but the price tag is sooo high!
I know Angelina, that is why I am thinking how I can make my own!
I so enjoyed you sharing your trip on IG. What a fabulous trip and how wonderful is Mackenzie-Childs! So fun!
Thanks Jemma, it was great! I am so fortunate to get to travel up to New York often! I will be going up in a few weeks for the Macy’s Flower Show!
I fell in love with these things , I would have trouble leaving such a beautiful place. Thank You for sharing your trip and pictures.
Oh, Jodi, I think I could have just sat down in one of those chairs and hung out looking at it all! There was so much to see, you had to walk around the store more than once not to miss anything!
I have loved MC for years, but I have resisted the urge so far. Many blogging friends have a passion for it. I enjoyed seeing all the pretties! Happy Wednesday!
I have resisted, too, Pam, but I think I might see a piece or two in my house in the future!
Oh my darlin’……I do believe you have been bitten by the MC bug! They say most people start with the teapot…..even if you’re not a tea drinker. 🙂
I haven’t bought one piece yet, but oh was it all so dreamy!!
Some of those are almost to pretty to put food on, LOL!! What fun, and as a fellow dish addict, I understand the attraction.
But really, Carole, don’t you agree? I just want to set a pretty table and look at it!!
I am a huge MKC lover and collector Chloe! What a dream visiting their store must have been!! I have a lot of serving pieces, but my heart is set on getting some dinner plates…each piece is a work of art! Love all your tempting photos!
Those floral dinner plates are so beautiful. About the only thing in the store I didn’t care for was the flatware, that is fine!
So pretty Chloe, It is a good thing I didn’t go to the MC store while in New York a couple months ago or one of those teapots would have come home with me. 🙂
Hi Chloe! I live about an hour away from their store in upstate New York. Every summer they have a “Barn Sale”.
We get so many fabulous deals!!! Everything is 50% off and more. The sale starts on a Thursday and goes thru Sunday. We are a group of 6 diehard fans!! Of course, you have to wait in line (last year we stood for 2 1/2 hours). But, we make a huge party out of it. We all dress in black and white, Each person brings something to eat or drink – we found mimosas in a 6 pack!! water, bagels – you get the picture. When we do get in we are there for about three hours – loading up our shopping carts!! We have all studied our catalogs so we are set to pick and choose. You should come! There are beautiful B&Bs to stay at, wonderful places to eat and the scenery is fabulous. It is just so much fun to be with everyone who loves and is addicted to McKenzieChilds.
Oh my goodness, I want to join you all!!! That sounds like so much fun! I am going to be checking this out for sure!! bring on the mimosas and the MacKenzie-Childs!!
Hi there ! Have the teapot !! Go to EVINE home shopping ! They have Mackenzie Child’s shows and lots of goodies for sale on line !! They have affordable easy payments for LOTS of goodies !!
I love MC’s stuff. I started with door pulls and then a pitcher and a few other things. Love them. That bunny wreath was so lovely. If you get a chance, visit their main store in Rochester. That almost did me in.
Their furniture is so whimsical. Love it.
Hugs,
Bev
Now that is a store I could spend a lot of time in! Love it all!
Wow! My husband and I were looking at a beautiful house on a lake. The view was spectacular but, it took me a while to realize this, it was the Mackenzie Childs checkerboard table and chairs that I made the difference. The decor was amazing!
Wow, how neat that would be to have a table and chairs from MacKenzie Childs!
Oh my goodness those plates are gorgeous and that table is very unique.
I’ve never heard of MC before, but I do love these peices you’ve posted. Thanks for sharing.
