The View from Foxglove Hill: Autumn Tables and a Sweet Fall Treat

Welcome back to The View from Foxglove Hill! This week, I’m celebrating autumn with two tables inspired by the season and a little something sweet. From an apple orchard setting indoors to a colorful gathering beneath the pergola, there are plenty of ideas for welcoming friends around your table. And if you’re looking for a baking project to enjoy before Thanksgiving, my autumn leaf cookies might be just the thing!

An Apple Orchard at the Table

You don’t need an orchard to bring a little apple-season charm into your home! For this tablescape, I used a mossy runner, branches, and apples to create the feeling of walking beneath apple trees. Burgundy and green napkins echo the colors of the fruit, while apple napkin rings tie the theme together. My favorite detail? Real apples turned into little candleholders, adding a welcoming glow. Visit my apple orchard tablescape for a closer look at all the details.

An Autumn Evening Beneath the Pergola

The pergola is dressed for fall, and what better way to enjoy it than with a table ready for company? A rich orange tablecloth sets the scene for green plates, amber glassware, and pumpkins and gourds nestled among autumn leaves. The Royal Stafford turkey plates bring a touch of Thanksgiving to the setting, while little lamps and throws over the chairs invite everyone to settle in. Come see my autumn table outdoors—you might find an idea to borrow for your own fall gathering!

Something Sweet for the Season

I enjoy making cutout cookies throughout the year, and these autumn leaves are such a pretty way to celebrate fall. A yellow frosting base, a little edible color spray, and veins drawn with a toothpick give them their colorful leaf appearance. Displayed in a cornucopia with candy acorns, they make a charming addition to a Thanksgiving dessert table. I’m sharing the process in my autumn leaf cookie tutorial if you’d like to give them a try.
