Mardi Gras Tablescape and Dinner for Four
It is Mardi Gras time! Â I am not interested in travelling to New Orleans, Mobile, Alabama or one of the other hot spots for celebrating Mardi Gras, but that doesn’t mean I have to let the occasion pass without a celebration of sorts. Â For us, it is time to bring out the decorations and set a fun table, whip up a King Cake and invite another couple in for dinner.
My table began by being draped in some fun Mardi Gras fabric and then I added a double layer of chargers.  Mardi Gras is a fun time to gather friends and celebrate  before the period of lent.
Purple wine glasses keep the regal touch going along with my fun centerpiece.  While I set the table, a friend helped by filling an oversized  glass ginger jar with green, purple and gold tiny ornaments and inexpensive beads.  A Mardi Gras decoration picked up on sale at Pier One after the holiday last year topped the jar along with a couple of fun masks and a regal gold crown.
Each place setting was topped with diamond patterned napkins I made out of this coordinating fabric and a tiny mask ornament. Those little masks make for a fun favor for each guest as a remembrance of our fun party.
My plate stack was a square gold charger topped with a round purple charger, then a beautiful gold dinner plate purchased some time ago at Z Gallerie. Â I made my napkins from some great Mardi Gras patterned fabric and topped each with a tiny mask ornament. Â Do you celebrate or acknowledge Mardi Gras in any particular way? Â I would love to hear what you do! Â Leave me a message below, I LOVE hearing from all of my readers and always try to respond to every single one!

A trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras is not in our plans this year, but one day I would love to go. Until then I will enjoy this beautiful table which really brings the feeling alive. There is no way to look at this vibrant setting and not be inspired, it is beautiful!
I will say, Sandra, after living in New Orleans for a couple of years, it is worth the adventure…once!
My husband lived there for 20+ years and we were married there. Lived in Mandeville on thr northshore. The parade started right down from our apartment. It was great fun. Never went to parades in NOLA thought. Too much crazy. Mandeville is much more low key
The parades before the big day were always fun as I remember! Thank you for stopping by Celebrate & Decorate!
So fun! I love the little masks and your simple centerpiece idea.
Thank you Dawn! Those masks were Christmas ornaments, a whole $1.49 at WalMart!
That looks so festive. I just love your centerpiece!!
Thank you Kim! Simple and easy!
We love Mardi Gras Chloe and you captured the festive abundance of it all with your great table and centerpiece! I’m with you though, I’d much rather celebrate at home with a few friends than get involved with crazy crowds!
Thank you Jenna! I am right with you…a quiet celebration at home!
Chloe, this is a beautiful Mardi Gras table. Oh My, those purple wine stems are gorgeous! Great fabric choices, and all of the pretty masks and beads make it all so festive.
Thank you Laurie, it makes an evening a little special, before heading into Lent! Those glasses were a bargain at Home Goods!
Gorgeous table! Perfect for a Mardi Gras celebration. Your dishes, napkins and tablecloth are stunning. Love your centerpieces as well. I am so glad you said where you got the masks. Thank you for that.
Have a wonderful week Chloe.
What a fun table! Love the centerpiece and how you did the plate stack with the mask. Love the linens- perfect!
Thank you Liz! Often times the easiest way to get the perfect linens is to buy fabric and make them! Thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful! I did a Carnival table today as well. I live in New Orleans and have to find something to do with all these beads! LOL. Hope you have a great Carnival and Mardi Gras!
Hugs,
Christi
Oh! Christi, I am coming by to see it! It has been 40 years since I lived in New Orleans!
I’ve never experienced Mardi Gras before… only through friends and it’s so exciting! I love what you created and it’s so festive that it’s like being there!
Thank you so much for sharing at Homemade and Handcrafted! You made my evening! =)
