I am so happy to be once again joining Rachelle from My Hubbard Home for part of her Let’s Get Festive Christmas Blog Hop!

Welcome to my holiday home! First thing you see at my house is front porch! I went all crazy with ornaments this year! You can see how I made my swag at: Make and Extra Long Swag. This coming week I will show you how I made the ornament laden archway!

A lantern sit on the top of the steps, greeting guests as they arrive. I simply added a faux wreath with a red velvet bow to the wreath.

Pots of red faux poinsettias will hold up in the Florida heat through December. A simple garland with clusters of ornaments hangs over the front door.

Since this is the perfect season for us to enjoy the outdoors in Florida, The chairs are decked with seasonal pillows and more wreaths with red velvet bows adorn the windows.

Come on in doors where the sofas are decked out with holiday pillows, too!

After moving into our house there were issues with our fireplace. You can read all about it in The Fireplace Saga. The photo above shows the fire box. It is purely decorative, but gives me the opportunity to style it for the seasons. This year I have filled a huge silver urn with sugar cones and magnolia leaves. My Michael’s deer lives down here when he has to move so my husband can watch television. You see, the television is hidden behind cabinet doors over our mantel.

When he isn’t banished, the reindeer lives up on the mantel like he is shown above. The mantel is decked with garlands of faux evergreen and magnolia. I always invest in good quality garlands and use them again, year after year and season after season. I used these magnolia garlands for my fall mantel with white pumpkins.

In addition to the garlands and sugar cones, I also tucked a few stems of faux holly into the garlands.

A pair of tall skinny trees decorate each end of the mantel. The trees were quite simple. To dress up the trees and coordinate them with the mantel, I tucked picks of pine cones and holly into them.

The mantel sets the scene in the family room. I may leave it decorated through January.

My tree is decorated in blue and white this year, this was not my first choice this year, but I decided I didn’t want to buy any new ornaments this year. You can read more about my tree at Icy Blue and White Christmas Tree. You can also see the garland hanging over the entry to my tavern room.
