A French Chateau Wedding

I travelled to France a couple of weeks ago for my son’s wedding in the area of Noth, France.  Neither the Bride nor the Groom is from France, but the couple’s dream was to have family and friends gather together for an entire weekend to celebrate this joyous occasion.

Welcome to Chateau del la Cazine

Chateau de la Cazine is an elegant estate overlooking rolling hills and a lake in the French countryside.  Upon arrival I was greeted by my adorable two-year-old granddaughter, waiting upon the front steps of this grand chateau.

The French Countryside

The grounds are lovely, just what I would have imagined for a French Country estate.  The weather was beautiful and there were many places for guests to wander, play tennis, or just sit and enjoy the views of the countryside.

Equestrian Wedding experienceThey even have an outdoor swimming pool, but it was a little too cold to take a dip.  On the morning of the wedding some of the guests went horseback riding.  While smaller guests just went to the nearby farm to visit the ponies.

Taking a photo as I strolled back to the chateau, I couldn’t help but appreciate the beauty of the setting.

Two little flower girls

Two tiny princesses await the festivities on the grand marble staircase with its beautiful black filigree railing.

The Beautiful Bride makes her appearance

Accompanied by a string quartet, a smiling bride steps forward to join her groom.  The bride wore a stunning gown decked with thousands of glittery crystals.  She truly did look like a princess coming to meet her prince.

The KissThe vows were said, promises made, rings exchanged and all were of course, followed by ‘the kiss’.

A little princess, niece of the groom, celebrates with the bride who she identified as “a princess” throughout the ceremony.

Tables were adorned with crystal clear vases filled with red and magenta flowers and hundreds of candles lit up the dining room.

The Champagne flowed, crystal sparkled, candles glowed as guests found their tables by the vintage mirrors with table numbers on them.

Fireworks to cap off the Celebration

After a wonderful dinner of several courses, everyone joined the Bride and Groom on the back steps of the chateau to celebrate them with shimmery sparklers while a fireworks show announced the spectacular evening a success.  The entire weekend was so special, I know this couple, their family and friends will all remember this French Chateau wedding as an amazing celebration.

    1. Thank you so much Sandra, you know from personal experience how busy our summers have been! I still have to host a dinner for the couple back in Ohio for family who didn’t travel to France, and THEN, I can take a rest, just in time for the holidays! Hugs, Chloe

  3. OMG – what a GORGEOUS event! The couple? Beautiful. The setting? Ridiculous! Those two “grand babies?” I want them for my own (not that ANY of us are really old enough for grandchildren, LOL!) I like to think every woman dreams of her wedding day her whole life – this wedding was most certainly this woman’s dream come true. Well done – and THANKS for sharing such a beautiful, intimate event with all of us. I hate to use a word frequently overused but the affair looks “magical.”
