An Elegant & Simple Dinner Party Tablescape
Sometimes you don’t need to over decorate or over style a tablescape. Â When hosting a dinner party, I want to do things a little more simple, perhaps more elegant than a cocktail party or a holiday meal. Â I staged this dinner party tablescape for a video shoot and couldn’t miss the opportunity to share this pretty table with you.

I felt for a simple but elegant centerpiece, a plain white bowl filled with two colors of roses would be the look I was going for. Â I simply picked up grocery store roses and used greenery clipped from my backyard to fill in the arrangement.
I began with a white tablecloth and topped that with gold chargers. Â The gold and silver flatware seemed like a perfect match, this is Towle Living Flatware in the Vienna pattern. Â It is so nice to have the combination of the silver and gold sometimes. Â This is a very affordable flatware available for $61.88 at Amazon for a service for eight.
I added these dinner plates from Home Goods that are so versatile, and tucked a black folded napkin beneath the plate.
I was so happy to have the opportunity to use some of my Miss America depression glass. Â This is the salad plate I added to my place settings. Â My mother had collected this for years and I finally have it all out of storage, so you will be seeing me use it more often in the future.
I topped my plate stack with these cute little dessert plates with a clock image on each one. Â These are Time Will Tell pattern by 222 Fifth. Â I originally bought these with the idea for using them for a New Year’s eve dinner, but they seemed like the perfect addition to my table.
In addition to my rose centerpiece I selected black tapers and placed them in a variety of crystal candlesticks I have had for years.  It almost gives a little nod to Halloween with the combination of the orange and the black.
I love the contrast of the fairly neutral table setting combined with the punch of color from the centerpiece.
It is a little sad that no guests got to enjoy this beautiful table, but I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it! Â I can’t wait to share the videos with you all!

Simple but very elegant! Basic pieces can be used for so many occasions and in endless combinations. I’ve been looking for more gold toned flatware for the longest and will check Amazon. Love love love your background and look forward to the video!
Thanks Sandra. That flatware is a great value and very good quality, I think you would like it and find lots of opportunities to use it. The background is an amazing picture my husband and I treated ourselves to for Christmas one year. Since the house was just painted, it isn’t hung yet, so it was easy to move behind the table.
Chole,
I adore a Timeless Classic Black & White Tablescape, dear friend!!!
Yours is elegantly styled with the Miss America glass plates atop the black and white stripe dinner plates!!!
The centerpiece with its PoP of orange is spectacular!!!
Love the black taper candles grouped in mass as an extension of the centerpiece!!!

Pat
Thank you so much Pat. I was very pleased with how it turned out! Hugs, Chloe!
