A Life in Celebration
Have the “dog days of summer” commenced where you are? The dog days of summer refer to the hottest days of the year that we experience in July and August. Contrary to what the name suggests, it has nothing to do with our furry friends. Instead, it’s named after Sirius, the Dog Star, which is the brightest star in the sky. Sirius is part of the Canis Major constellation, also known as the Greater Dog. I don’t know about astronomy, but I do know that July and August are equally hot and sultry here in central Florida. I think that is why I am always anxious to start my fall decorating. Somehow in my mind, if I start decorating for autumn, the weather will start to cool. Crazy idea, right?

Are you a road trip person or an airline person? My husband would rather hop on a plane than drive four hours to a destination. Me, now I am ready to drive all the way across the country! When I drive I can take my dog, and I can take as much stuff as can fit in my car! This week my husband and I set off on a two week road trip! We have clients to meet, family to see, and a stay at one of the Historic Hotels of America ahead of us! I look forward to sharing the adventure with you! Make sure you follow me on Instagram to catch all of the fun!

Did someone say candy?
If you have someone leaving for college, or in my case, maybe a couple of camp counselors that are looking after my granddaughters this summer, or just someone celebrating something special, a “candy cake” might be just the thing!

My three favorite things this week!

Are you thinking about Halloween? Grandinroad has been the go to spot for Halloween decor for the past several years! If you are looking for Halloween decor items for under $100, I have spotted them here!

Are you suffering with humidity like I am in Florida? I have used another brand of hanging moisture absorbers in the past, but I am so happy with these Vacplus bags at a much better price! I have hung one of these in every closet to survive the humid summertime!
