A Rose Garden in Southampton

When I was attending the wonderful anniversary party in the Hamptons a few weeks ago, I wanted to see as much of the area as possible.  My hubby and I took a drive on Saturday before the festivities began and happened upon this amazing rose garden in Southampton. Southampton-Rose-GardenI hadn’t read up on Southampton and didn’t know what we should do or see while we were there, but if I had, I know this would have been on my list.  I am so glad that we happened upon it.  Red-Roses

Each quarter of the garden was massed with a different color of roses.  All of the roses were brimming with bounteous blooms.  There were red, white, a coral pink and yellow mass plantings.  At the edges and in the center of the garden around a gazebo were other varieties.  Pink-roses-on-an-arborEach side of the garden also had an arbor laden with the fragrant blooms.  The one above was the entrance to the garden, so its gates were flung open for visitors to come in.  The sign reads: The Southampton Rose Society Rose Garden – A gift to the people of Southampton  2003.  What a beautiful gift it is, not just to the people of Southampton, but to all who are fortunate enough to come upon it. Gazebo-in-the-rose-gardenI am not particularly a fan of roses, they are really a challenge to grow down here in Florida, but one could not help but be amazed by this beautiful garden and the lush flora that adorned it.  Southampton-Rose-Garden2There were places to sit throughout the garden, providing spots to just take in the beauty surrounding you.  I know I will be going back to the Hamptons again, and this time I will make a point of taking time to stop by the Southampton Rose Garden again.  If you find yourself on Long Island, I can’t recommend the garden enough.

I will be sharing this at the following Link Parties:
