A Surprise Invitation and What the New Year Holds

My husband and I are almost always in Florida for New Year’s Eve.  It isn’t a bad place to be, particularly since we can glimpse the Walt Disney World Fireworks from our neighborhood.  This year, however, we received an invitation to a party near our Ohio home.  It was clear this wasn’t going to be just any party since guests were requested to dress in black tie or black lace.  I scrambled to order a couple of dresses while I was in Germany, deciding on one when I got home.  As you can see from the pictures below it was a fabulous party in an incredibly designed high rise apartment with views of fireworks in the distance as midnight struck. PartyCollage2

Now the new year is upon us and I am considering what that will bring for me and this blog.  My husband and I have decided that 2015 will be the year we both push ourselves to step out of our comfort zones.  I will take on some challenges I would never have done before.  I am starting this in just a couple of weeks when I travel to Phoenix to attend the BASH Conference.  I have rarely travelled by myself.  I am excited, and yet, a little nervous to go into a conference by myself.  I am excited about meeting women I have admired,  whose blogs I have read.  I am excited about all the inspiration I will get for celebrations and tablescapes.BASH2In the meantime I am working on putting together some wonderful parties to inspire you to take your party planning to the next level.  I have put together these pictures below to give you a peek into what I might be featuring in the coming months.  I hope you come along for the adventure with me!  Newyearcollage3 Can you guess what I may have planned?  I look forward to sharing so many new ideas with you in 2015.  What are you planning for the new year?  Are you pushing yourself to do something you have never done before?

I’ll be sharing this at:

    1. Thanks Sandra! I hope you are enjoying retirement and I have no doubt you are keeping busy! I am so very excited to attend this conference, but a little nervous, as my first conference, and I don’t really know anyone else who is going! I am quite excited about the parties I have planned this year!

  3. Happy New Year! I have been to two conferences now with a friend and learned lots. You will have a great time, but I also understand the anxiety in going to it alone. There will be lots of people in your same shoes. I wish I had known about this one it sounds so fun even though I’m not really an event/party blog I love to share entertaining ideas. I went to SNAP last year which I loved and this year I plan on attending GO Blog Social in KC. I can’t wait to hear how your trip goes. Safe travels!
