Apparently, I really love making fall wreaths! As I’ve been revisiting and updating some of my older seasonal projects, I was surprised to discover that I have created so many different DIY fall wreaths over the years. From colorful, overflowing designs filled with pumpkins and autumn leaves to simpler wreaths inspired by nature, each one offers a different way to welcome the season—and today, I’m gathering all of my favorite DIY fall wreath ideas together in one place.
Since fall decorating often begins with just one small change, I thought this would be the perfect week to gather all of these wreath ideas together. Whether you love pumpkins, autumn leaves, rich seasonal colors, or something a little unexpected, I hope one of these inspires your own front door this fall.
Looking back through these projects was a little like opening a box of fall decorations I had forgotten about. Some wreaths still feel completely timeless, while others reminded me of how much my decorating style—and my photography!—has changed over the years. I enjoyed giving several of the older posts a little refresh and bringing all of the ideas together in one easy place.
One of the things I love most about a wreath is how quickly it can make your home feel ready for a new season. You don’t have to decorate the entire house or bring out every pumpkin you own. Sometimes, hanging a beautiful wreath on the front door is all it takes to say, “Fall is on its way.”

Have you ever wondered what Lily and I do when we’re not working on Celebrate & Decorate? Lately, I’ve been teaching her to identify her toys by name and then pick them up and put them away. Poodles are SO smart, and she has become quite good at the cleaning-up part! Identifying the correct toy, however, still has its good days and bad days. She knows her beloved donut—most of the time—but occasionally she brings me the rat or even the strawberry instead. We’re still working on it, but at least one of us is getting better about putting things away!
Most of my foxgloves have gone to seed and are showing very little color now, but this beautiful bloom is holding on just a little longer—for me and for the hummingbird who visits it every day! It sits right outside the window beside my desk, so I get to enjoy both the flower and its tiny visitor while I work. It feels like one last sweet gift from the summer garden.
As summer slowly begins to give way to fall, I’m enjoying these last colorful blooms while also looking forward to the season ahead. There will be plenty more fall decorating, DIY projects, and little glimpses of life here at Foxglove Hill to share in the coming weeks. Until then, I hope you find a wreath that inspires you, notice a few lingering signs of summer, and make time to enjoy the small moments that make each season special.

Oh Chloe I can believe Lilly is learning to identify objects…. many years ago I bred & raised black toy poodles. However, our white toy pom (who went over the rainbow bridge a couple years ago) was highly intelligent also. Jesse James lived to be 20 years old which is unusual for a toy breed. He weighed only 5 pounds. When we would go for ice cream he always thought he had to go too (although we didn’t give him any) he just liked to ride. We tried spelling ‘ice cream’ thinking he would not know where we were headed, but he always knew and would be waiting at the door, leash in mouth and giving us that look of ‘hurry up, I’m waiting’. When we would go to church or the market, he would just go lay in his bed with no desire to go along. By the way, is the first pic of Lilly near a fire pit seating area in your back yard? It is beautiful!
I think my favorite wreath is the Fall Apple Cider wreath and you are right…you have made a lot of wreaths. I am not quite ready to hang mine yet…still enjoying the summer!🥰☀️🌴
Oh, yes, you know then how smart those poodles are! I guess this is why we always used to see them in circuses! I didn’t know Jesse James was gone, I am so sorry! 20 years! You must have been heartbroken! Oh, Lily ALWAYS wants to ride along whenever she can! Funny, she knows when we are dressed a certain way, we are going out without her and just goes to her bed. Yes, that is my backyard! I don’t have a pool or screen room down there, but we have a nice screen porch upstairs. I just bought the most lovely pergola that I can’t wait to have put together and landscaped so I can set tables beneath it! I do love our view of the woods, it is a joy! I didn’t really have a view in Celebration, so I am loving it! There is a lake back behind the woods, I have a peek a boo view right now and am anxious to see how much of it we can see when the leaves fall!
