Baking Easter Cupcakes!

BAKING EASTER CUPCAKES!

A few days in New Jersey with my granddaughters was the perfect chance for baking Easter cupcakes!  This was supposed to be a major snow day here, and although we are getting some snow, it hasn’t lived up to the hype.  I hope if you were in the path of the storm, you made it through safe and sound and warm and dry!

Mia helped me with the cake mix!  This was not the time to bake from scratch!  These cute little bunny aprons were something I picked up last year, but they are big enough for them to fit a couple more years!Little children remind you to enjoy all of the little things, just stirring cake batter and scooping it into the cupcake liners is a great adventure when you are 3 or 4 years old!I found this sweet set of cupcake liners and toppers at Home Goods.  I knew my Peter Rabbit loving granddaughter would love these!

With the cupcakes in the oven, this was the perfect opportunity to enjoy reading The Tale of Peter Rabbit.  When our cupcakes cooled it was time to frost and decorate!  Zoe was ready to ice her cupcake, and maybe taste that frosting, too!  One plate of cupcakes is ready to take to friends next door.  We used the Peter Rabbit picks on some of the cupcakes and used a kit of “bunny bottoms” for the rest of them!  The girls loved adding the tails to the middle of the cupcakes.  Baking Easter cupcakes was such a fun activity with my granddaughters, I look forward to cooking and baking with them even more in the future.

  2. Thanks for sharing. Such adorable, happy girls! I love Beatrix Potter books and figures. When I was about 10-12 my mom starting giving me a tiny book and porcelain collectible figurine. I put them in the nursery on a shelf when I had kids. Now I pull them out to decorate the table…until I am blessed with grandchildren to pass them on to.

  3. Chloe, I love you sharing your time with your girls! They are adorable, and their future looks bright. Your skin is drop dead gorgeous, and your new do and specs are very becoming! Better get back to the warmth real soon – that snow in the Northeast just keeps on comin’!

  4. Chloe, glad your have special times with your girls. My twin girls love to bake and the triplets are getting into baking too. Baking with two little ones is fun, with five it is just plain crazy! As long as everyone gets a turn to measure, pour and stir they are happy. The best is the taste test.
