Christmas Home Tour
Christmas Home Tour
It is time for another peek into my home to see how I have decorated for Christmas! I am so excited to be joining a group of wonderful bloggers who are opening their homes for this Christmas home Tour.
I went a little simpler with garland and lights on my porch this year. I will be spending Christmas in New York and New Jersey with my children and grandchildren, so I scaled back a bit.
We also just had our banisters and railings painted so I wanted to be careful to not scratch up the new paint. Instead of draping the garland in swags I just wrapped one each of four garlands on the posts at the top and bottom of the stairs. I secured them with a red velvet ribbon backed in gold and added some clusters of shatter proof ornaments in red and gold.
One side of my staircase is lined with lanterns with battery operated candles and trimmed with the same red and gold velvet bows. Alternate steps hold faux red poinsettias.
Up on the porch things get cozy and comfy with red quilts and Merry Christmas pillows. A tiered tray is filled not with snacks, but more red and gold ornaments.A holly trimmed wreath hangs upon a galvanized boat that sits on the front porch, greeting guests with a touch of the coastal style I like.
I made this fun snowman to greet guests. Do you “Want to Build a Snowman” too?
All of the rest of the plants that normally flank the front door are trimmed with artificial red poinsettias and red velvet bows. Come on up on the porch and visit! Now, let’s head inside!
Come on into the tavern room! A Target truck trimmed for Christmas sits next to containers of candy canes and Christmas mints. Another truck with a little bottle brush tree in the back of it acts as the centerpiece for a casual holiday tablescape.
Snowball garlands were strong above my headboard and a pair of white furry stockings add a little Christmas in the master bedroom. The picture on the bedside stand is my granddaughters sitting on Santa’s lap this year!
I also added a little bit of greenery and ribbons to my oyster shell wreath that hangs in our bedroom year round.
My living and family rooms are decorated for Christmas with a coastal style. You can see more of it at My Holiday Home.
Enjoy visiting all of the homes through the links below for unending Christmas inspiration!
