Decorate Your Mantel for the Fourth of July!

Follow along and I will show you how to make a beautiful mantel decoration for the Fourth of July. If you choose to leave out the flags you can follow these steps and make a beautiful arrangement you can use for any season!

I start this with a piece of dry floral foam and a piece of chicken wire. Cut a piece of craft chicken wire the correct size to wrap around your piece of dry floral foam.

Wrap the chicken wire around the piece of foam as shown below.

I used floral wire or pipe cleaners to secure the chicken wire around the block of foam. I wanted to make a very large arrangement so I prepared two of these.

Next step was to go over to my mantel and attach Command hooks to my mantel. Once again, I repeated this twice so I could make a larger arrangement.

I simply slip my chicken wire wrapped floral foam onto the Command hooks, making sure that the holes in the chicken wire are over each of the hooks.

Here you can see how I have attached the two prepared pieces of foam to the mantel.

It was time to start building my arrangement. I began with pretty variegated artificial foliage.

After the foliage, I began adding beautiful blue artificial hydrangeas.

It is looking good, but I wanted more!

Here is my arrangement, almost finished! I hung patriotic bunting beneath my mantel to help complete the look I was going for.

To finish off, I added American flags, sticking the sticks into the floral foam blocks.

Here is my patriotic mantel display for the Independence Day!
