Using Trays for Holiday Decorating

Using trays of all kinds is something I do throughout the year. Right now everything at my house is geared toward Christmas. That includes my trays!

Kitchen Christmas Tray

I almost alway have a tray of some sort on the island in my kitchen. This is a gathering place for family and friends.

For the holidays I have selected a large wooden tray and layered it with these sweet red cookie boxes from Target.

Now Jinx the Kitchen Manager in charge of feeding Santa’s elves three heavily sugared meals each day. Jinx has asked Santa several times to be moved to Toy Production, but Santa has told him he needs to see more passion and attention to detail in his work, so at this time, he is not promotable.

So…until Jinx gets promoted he is going to continue to hang out in my kitchen and help out while I bake all of my Christmas cookies!

I don’t see Jinx available online any longer, but here is a pair of elves that might help you do your holiday baking!

You may notice those cookie boxes are empty. I haven’t started baking yet! In just a few short weeks those cookie trays will be filled to the brim! Of course a small Christmas tree is part of my

A Mrs. Claus Cookie company kitchen towel and a mug for my hot cocoa are tucked on the tray for now.

In addition to my cookie boxes, there are also dishes filled with peppermints and candy canes! My granddaughters will be visiting for the holidays and I know they will cozy up to this tray on my island!

My kitchen tray is filled with nods to my holiday baking! All I need to add is the cookies!

Bedside trays

In our bedroom I have added a silver tray with a bottle of bubbly, a candle, a pair of flutes and a chocolate heart! Just the thing for a romantic evening illuminated by the glow of my bedroom Christmas tree.

In my granddaughters’ room I have prepared a couple of trays out of wooden chargers with some treats for them!

Until the girls arrive, a faux cupcake decorates the little red pedestal. A tiny gift is tucked into a little gift box. Each of the girls will receive their own Santa mug for cocoa during the holidays. A breakfast tray with some Christmas cheer like this is a nice touch for any guests you have staying for the holidays. You can find your own Santa mugs here!

Those faux cupcakes are so adorable, I wanted to give you a close up shot! These came from My Faux Sweets on Etsy! She does beautiful work!

I hope this has given you some ideas for sharing holiday decor on a tray in your home!
