How to Make a Quick and Easy Fourth of July Centerpiece!
The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays for gathering family and friends around the table. There’s just something special about celebrating our nation’s birthday with good food, laughter, and a little red, white, and blue sprinkled throughout the day. While I love creating festive tablescapes, I also appreciate decorating ideas that are simple, affordable, and easy to put together.
This patriotic centerpiece checks all of those boxes! Combining two classic symbols of Americana—baseballs and American flags—it creates a charming focal point that feels both nostalgic and festive. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue, a casual family cookout, or a patriotic dinner with friends, this centerpiece comes together in just minutes and adds the perfect touch of Independence Day spirit to your table.
Today I’m sharing exactly how I created this easy arrangement so you can recreate it for your own celebration. Let’s bring a little all-American charm to your Fourth of July table!
I began with this basket. You can use a basket, a bowl, any kind of container you choose will work for this project!

The first thing I did was to fill the basket with some scrunched up shopping bags as shown below.

I kind of hollowed out a spot in the middle of the bags for a small piece of dry floral foam and then covered the rest of the bags with moss.

Next I added my baseballs. In full transparency, I used softballs. I have a granddaughter who plays softball so these will be handed over to her after the holiday. Any white baseballs or softballs will work for this project. I nestled the balls into the moss base all around the edge of my basket.

Time for some red, white and blue! I used five American flags on sticks and simply stuck the ends into that piece of dried floral foam.

Now my centerpiece was really coming together!

When I was finished adding the flags, I tucked some additional moss around them covering up the piece of floral foam.

To finish off, I simply added the last few balls stacked around the base of the flags and there you have it! This is such an easy centerpiece, you can throw this together at a family picnic or a backyard barbecue!

Happy Fourth of July! May you have a joyous day whatever you choose to do and enjoy the freedoms we have come to appreciate here in the USA!

This is such a cute idea. I plan to share a link on my Sunday, DRA. Hope you are doing good.
Simple, easy and cute. It will give you more time for more ideas. I dont think hockey sticks will set the right tone for Canada. Haha.
I don’t know Karen, how about hockey pucks? LOL
