Life Lately Once Again!
I am keeping so busy here in Georgia, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Between helping with school pickups, basketball games, and various activities, I am getting exactly what I hoped for when we made the move. Being close to my daughter and granddaughters has been such a gift.
I still have a few boxes left to unpack, but for the most part, everything is finding a home. One of the best surprises has been discovering just how much storage space we have. The previous owners had a home theater, which held absolutely no appeal for us, but it turns out it makes the perfect place to store all of my holiday decorations, craft supplies, and table styling pieces. How lucky am I that my sweet husband happily handed over the entire room? He says as long as he can shut the door and doesn’t have to look at any of it, he’s perfectly happy!

As for the outside of the house, I am giving myself permission to wait. There are plenty of ideas swirling around in my head, but Georgia summers are not exactly known for being conducive to landscaping projects! I hope to tackle more gardening and outdoor styling this fall when the temperatures become a little more forgiving. If you missed my plans for transforming the front of the house, you can see them here.
Of course, even though I am not diving into a major outdoor project just yet, I couldn’t resist adding a wreath and a rug for the Fourth of July. Some habits die hard!
One thing I am still getting used to is how far this house sits from the street. In Celebration, my front porch practically greeted everyone who walked by. Here, the front door feels much more tucked away. I have laughed more than once wondering if I’ll continue decorating it quite as enthusiastically since I may be the only person who ever sees it. Then again, if you love decorating as much as I do, maybe that’s reason enough.

I also couldn’t resist bringing home a few foxgloves for pots around the deck and garden. Foxgloves have been my favorite flower for as long as I can remember. I grew them years ago in Ohio and have missed them ever since. I’ve planted them in several different spots around the property to see where they are happiest. No matter where they decide to thrive, I plan to keep a pot or two near the window by my desk. The hummingbirds have been making frequent visits there, and I can’t think of a prettier scene than foxgloves swaying in the breeze while hummingbirds dart among the blooms.

Inside the house, I’ve been working on putting the finishing touches on the bedroom and living room. Both spaces are so close to being finished that I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. All they really need now are window treatments. The kitchen, however, will have to patiently wait its turn until fall.

One thing that did arrive this week was our new living room rug, and I have to tell you, I absolutely love it. The room immediately felt warmer and more finished the moment it was rolled out. Even better, it is unbelievably soft. I find myself kicking off my shoes and sinking my toes into it every chance I get. Who knew a rug could bring so much happiness?
There is so much more to come here at Celebrate and Decorate. I can’t wait to share the transformation of our new home, new tablescapes and entertaining ideas, holiday decorating inspiration, gardening adventures, and all of the little discoveries along the way.
Thank you, as always, for following along on this journey. Your friendship, encouragement, and support mean more than you know. Here’s to new beginnings, new traditions, and making a beautiful life wherever we are planted.
Until next time,
Chloe

I’ve missed you and I love all of this!! You have a decorations room??? I’m swooning. And your living room — that rug — is perfection.
I couldn’t be happier about all of this! Can’t wait to see more!
And don’t be ridiculous — of course, decorate your front door!!!

Thank you so much Barbara! It is so lovely to hear from you! I hope one of these times I am in Phoenix we can get together! Living near Atlanta, I can fly to Phoenix non-stop!! …and yes! I will continue to decorate my front door! I am already thinking about Fall and Christmas!
Progress! Storage room envy. Good to hear from you.
Thanks so much Myrna! I am loving all of that space!!
Oh it’s looking beautiful Chloe! I say keep on with the front door decorations. Maybe nobody in real life will see them, but all of us in Online-Land will LOVE them! Thanks for sharing your wonderful new home – I can’t wait to see more!
Oh my, thank you for the encouragement on my front door decor! Thanks for stopping by!!
Chloe, your new space is STUNNING! I so admire your willingness to take on new styles, given the area you live in. This one is so very different than the condo in OH, and the home in Celebration. But equally if not more fabulous!
Thank you so much Rita! I am enjoying the process of taking on a new home style!
