Summer porch

I am on the porch, ready to welcome you to my summer home! Come on up on the porch and join me!

Lily is ready for you to come in and join us, too! I selected daisies as my theme on the front porch this year. The daisy doormat is the perfect choice greeting summertime guests.

Here is a closeup of the daisy wreath. What could be more cheery on your front door? You can see how to easily make this wreath right here!

Pillow covers are an easy way to switch up your decor for a seasonal change. I switched out my covers for these daisy covers and yellow buffalo check ones!

In keeping with my daisy theme, a galvanized watering can holds some artificial daisies. Nearby a large galvanized tub holds even more of them. To get a full look mix daisies of different sizes in your containers.

What would my front porch be without a table set for summertime? Yellow and white stand out over a blue and white buffalo check tablecloth.

You can see more photos and details of this table at: A Summer Daisy Tablescape.

A bar cart is a perfect addition for summertime entertaining!

What would summertime be without some summer beverages? Lemonade is my favorite, but these Simply Cutrer cans of chardonnay.

Summer kitchen

I always like adding some seasonal decor to my kitchen since I spend plenty of time in there. For my summer kitchen theme I decided on bright and cheerful lemons. Keeping decor on my island confined to a tray makes it easy to slide out of the way.

When I designed my new kitchen I made sure that I had a place above my cooktop to display holiday and seasonal decor. I decorated this with lemon garlands and a boxwood wreath full of faux lemons.

Family Room

Pillow covers in the family room for summer are navy blue and orange grand floral pattern.

For summertime mantel decor I styled a floral arrangement of orange peonies, white hydrangeas, artichokes and variegated greenery. To add a little more color, I pulled some books in blue and orange to tuck next to the florals.

To carry my orange summer theme to my coffee table I included some natural elements like a wooden bowl full of faux oranges and a live fern tucked into a bright orange flower pot. I love these blank books which are great decor and also a great place to record travel adventures.

In the Tavern Room

I haven’t done a lot of decorating in the our tavern room, but again, I want to bring plenty of live plants inside for the summer and selected these orchids to fill up my antique dough bowl.

My talented friend, Brian dressed up my chalkboard with a summer theme!

And…

The place where I am spending as much spare time as I can eke out this summer, this shade sculpture we have dubbed, “the pod”.
