The View from Foxglove Hill
For those of you who have been with me for a while, you know that for many years I lived in Celebration, Florida. In fact, my newsy updates were often called A Life in Celebration, a title that carried a double meaning. It reflected both the town I called home and my belief that life itself should be celebrated.

When we moved to Georgia earlier this year, I left Celebration behind, but I didn’t leave behind that philosophy. What I did leave behind was the perfect name for my weekly updates.
For months, I found myself referring to our new home simply as “the new house.” That never felt quite right.

Then one day, while brainstorming ideas for a newsletter title, I found myself thinking about foxgloves. I have always loved these charming cottage garden flowers with their tall spires and old-fashioned beauty. At the same time, I realized that our new home sits high on a hill overlooking a backdrop of trees and a lake.
And just like that, Foxglove Hill was born.
No, there isn’t a stone sign at the entrance. There aren’t fields of foxgloves blooming here—yet, only a few pots of them for now. But the name captures exactly how this home feels to me: a little romantic, a little English-country inspired, surrounded by nature, and full of possibilities.
So from now on, when you see The View from Foxglove Hill, you’ll know you’re joining me here in Georgia as I share decorating projects, tablescapes, gardening adventures, family moments, and all the little stories that make a house a home.
Welcome to Foxglove Hill.
In the meantime, we are still trying to decide exactly what we want to do with the exterior of the house. Back a few weeks ago I showed a photo of the current exterior and a craftsman makeover via AI. If you want to take a look you can see that here. I am now kind of crushing on this English Cottage AI makeover. Which one do you like the best?

This past weekend we left behind all of the ongoing house projects and traveled a couple of hours up to a lovely country resort, Barnsley. On their website, Barnsley identifies itself like this:
In a place that simply glows with possibilities.
Nestled on 3,000 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Barnsley Resort celebrates the amazing things that happen when we slow down. Here, everything — from a championship golf course, spa and 10-acre lake to historic gardens, farm-to-table cuisine and casually elegant cottages and guest rooms — is an invitation to gather, relax and open yourself to the gift of being nowhere but here.

I am in awe of this place and I know I will be coming back again and again. One of things that drew me to select this resort is that we could bring Lily with us! The resort has an Inn and 39 free standing English-inspired cottages all among a pedestrian friendly village.

Above, Lily sits among the ruins of the Italianate Villa, built by English shipping magnate Godfrey Barnsley for his beloved wife, Julia.
Now, what happened at Foxglove Hill last week? Curtains went up in the bedroom! No more paper shades. These are not the do all/end all of curtains, they came from Amazon and they look great! The splurge, which wasn’t much of a splurge is the Cato curtain rod I got from Two Pages! IF you are looking for any window treatments or the hardware, check out Two Pages and use this code, CHLOECRABTREE for 22% off site wide!
Both the dining table AND chairs have been delivered! I have plans for an amazing centerpiece for everyday on the table and I can’t wait to share it!! The table is Pottery Barn’s Banks Extendable Table and the chairs were a ridiculous splurge (even on sale) that my husband spotted in the gallery and just had to have, the Arco Channel Dining Chairs from Arhaus.
If you aren’t following me over on Instagram you may have missed this video…and Lily’s lovely appearance!
If you are planning on doing some Amazon shopping for Prime days, I would love for you to check out my Amazon storefront!
