    Joy to the World Tablescape

Although this year will be different, I am determined to enjoy this holiday season as much as I possibly can. Today I am hosting a Holiday Tablescape Blog Hop. I hope you enjoy the tablescapes all of these talented bloggers have created and get some inspiration for setting a pretty table for yourself this holiday season.

Begin styling this table with a roll of wrapping paper. You can select any wrapping paper color or pattern. Preferably you would want something that does not have a horizontal pattern to it. Roll it down your entire table and onto the floor, leaving the roll on the floor for the time being.

Roll out a solid roll of paper on top of your patterned paper.

Measure the sides to make sure your runner is centered on your table.

Your table will be looking somewhat like this with the layers of papers down the center. If the top paper wants to move around, you can add a little double sided tape here or there to secure it.

Take a piece of your top paper, which could be white or kraft or butcher table. You can go free hand like my friend, Brian did for me, or use a machine to print out words. I selected “Joy to the World”. Make sure you leave an ample amount of paper both above and below the message.

Use tape to add the paper with the message to the end of your table, positioning it so the message is read at the end of the table.

The next step is to add a focal point to your centerpiece. I found this beautiful reindeer at Michaels on sale and have plans to use him all over the house. You can use a tree, a basket of ornaments, or anything for your focal point.

Add something else to your table. I added these chunky black distressed candle holders. The black picked up the black in the buffalo check wrapping paper.

Add garlands down the center of your table. I began with a magnolia garland that I used on my Fall Mantel. Weave your garland among the items on your tabletop.

I layered a faux evergreen garland on top of the magnolia garland for fullness.

Make sure you add enough garland to let it drape over the end of your table and wrap around the words on the table runner as shown above!

You now have a stunning wrapping paper table runner! This will wow your guests!

Now it is time to set your table! I found these sweet red and black buffalo check salad plates at Kohls. It was easy to top black chargers with white dinner plates and these fun plaid ones.

Black napkins and red Pioneer Woman flatware were another way to coordinate with my wrapping paper.

Crystal water glasses and ruby wine goblets rounded out the table settings.

I loved how (totally unplanned) the black metal frame of my chandelier coordinated with the table colors.

    7. Chloe, you & Brian did an outstanding job of making paper look like textile and fine graphics! Really rich, with all the layering of garlands and the massive candlesticks. I love the look with the lanterns at the end of table with the graphic and flowing garland. I think you’ll find your deer will be quite versatile – he’s a handsome dude. And that shot above the chandelier made me look twice. It almost looked like a tiered serving dish down the center of the table, above the rest of the centerpiece. Very awesome, and affordable crafting in how you delivered. Thanks so much for always inspiring creativity. It is definitely a treat to be in your company on each tablescape event.

    10. Chloe, what a dramatic and festive table and centerpiece to start off the Christmas hop — wowza! I’m crushing on the reindeer (which is one of my holiday decorating themes); its fabulous. My favorite part of you clever and unique runner and centerpiece is how they spill off the table. Thank you for all the effort and care you put in gathering us together today, as we all badly need some holiday cheer.

Fantastic! Thank you very much for sharing!

    18. Wow, Chloe! This table is so dramatic and beautiful! Your handsome reindeer is a show stopper and the perfect centerpiece. Who knew that Brian is not only tech savy but also artistic? He did a great job drawing your banner freehand! I can’t get over the overhead shots. How did you get up there so high? I’ve climbed a ladder in my dining room, but I get dizzy and the photos come out blurry lol! I love how the garland drapes over the side of the table onto the floor. Just stunning! Thanks for hosting another fun hop! Happy Holidays, my friend!

    19. So pretty! But I gotta ask – where did you find that chandelier? It would look so nice in my home!

      1. Oh my Becky, we looked for that for four years. We bought it on a trip to Hilton Head and Bluffton, South Carolina. I think the store might have been Coastal Chic home Furniture, but I could be wrong.

    20. Lovely! Absolutely stunning coordination! But I have one question, is there room for the food?

      1. Gena, I like to serve my dinners plated or buffet style so that the food stays hot, so no extra space for family style is needed.
