A Life in Celebration

A Life in Celebration

Happy Sunday!  How has your week been?  Have you traveled anyplace? I have had a very busy week on the travel front!  Last weekend my sweet hubby and I cruised on the Disney Dream for three glorious and relaxing days.  It was a well needed rest away from the responsibilities of home, grandchildren and aging parents.

I spent most of my time on board right down there at the adult pool!

On Wednesday I flew from Orlando to Washington to my daughter’s home.  I spent the night there and collected my sweet granddaughters and flew on Thursday with the girls back to Orlando.  Our kindergartener had a short break from school, and this was the perfect time for us to have a visit and their mom to have a little break.  On Monday the girls and I will fly back to Washington with me returning to Orlando on Tuesday.

One of my sweet little travelers! They are such good flyers!

If you don’t follow me on Instagram you may not be aware how much I fly.  Julie from My Wee Abode, even asked me once, “why so much flying?”  I guess with my husband’s travel schedule, it is just the lifestyle we have grown accustomed to.

Where else can you get Mickey and Minnie on top of your hot chocolate?

Sometimes I have to check my husband’s frequent flyer account just to see where he is going to be and when!

Do you like to fly?  Do you do it often?  What bothers you most about flying?  For me, the delayed and canceled flights are the worst.  The threat of having to spend a night in a hotel that you didn’t plan on because your flight was canceled, or you missed a connection is such an annoyance.  On the other hand, thanks to all of the gate agents, baggage handlers, TSA agents, pilots and flight attendants who make it possible for us to get to our destinations, thousands of miles away in just a few short hours!

In between all of the travel, my husband adds his opinion on how things are going at home.  Back in 2017 he mentioned how he wished we lived a little more elegant life, which inspired this post, 10 Tips for Living a More Elegant Life.  If you read it back in 2017, I updated for 2020 this week!

I am gearing up for Valentine’s Day and shared my Valentine’s mailbox decor on the blog, and in a Live video for Hometalk!  I have done lots of mailbox decorations, but this time I used a little different base and it made this so much easier!

Now, speaking of My Wee Abode, you would be amazed at the quality of living and organizing Julie does in her small space…AND…with style!  Check out how she added a closet to her home for just $70!

Are you looking for more winter tablescape ideas?  Check out my friend, Sandra’s Frosty Winter Tablescape.   If you love to bake, (particularly cakes) hers is the blog to follow, too!

I hope you are looking forward to a lovely week, a couple of more days of flying and then back home and back to work!  Hopefully I will crank out a few videos this coming week for those of you who like to catch those on IGTV or Facebook!

    1. Ah, KariAnne, that was something I didn’t know about you! I am not necessarily a fan of flying, but if I have to get someplace in a short amount of time, I guess that’s the way to go! Honestly, give me a driving trip with time to stop and see the sites along the way! HUGS! Chloe

  2. Awwww Chloe thank you so much for the shout-out! Your Valentine’s Mailbox is gorgeous and I’m sure it brightens your mail carrier’s days. I don’t fly often but when I do I’m always nervous, but for long distances it’s the way to go.

  3. Sounds like a wonderful vacation with your husband! I hope you enjoyed the time with your granddaughters! I am not a frequent flyer…haven’t flown since Haven last summer!

    1. Oh Lynne, it was short, but oh so sweet. This week, we are back to our ever changing travel schedules! I feel like I lost an entire week flying back and forth to DC and having my granddaughters visit, but oh, so worth it! Will you be coming to Haven again this year?

    2. Oh Lynne, it was short but oh so sweet! I feel like I lost a week flying up and back to get those girls, but it was well worth it! Will you be coming to Haven again this year? I hope a friend will come with me, in which case I will drive up from Orlando this year. I don’t mind the highway driving, but I hate Atlanta driving!
