Celebrate Your Story! # 188

Celebrate Your Story! Link Party

How has your week been?  I am glad to have you back again!  For the past eight days I have been traveling around Italy!  This has been my first time here, and I will say, it has been amazing, and I will be back again!  We toured Rome, Venice, Florence and a small village where my husband has clients which was delightful!  I know I will be sharing more of my travels in the coming weeks!  I am typing this from Rome, but should be arriving home about the time this post goes live!  I hope you all had a delightful 4th of July or Canada Day, or just another summertime week in your part of the world!

Cabin among the treesMy first feature this week comes from Pam and Butch of Everyday Living.  Maybe it is the heat getting to me here in Italy, but I long for lovely cool mountain vistas like these!  I need to visit this mountaintop for a getaway!  This place looks like a delightful place to get away from the world!  Check out that amazing outdoor shower!  What a lovely reminder Sandy from Old Green Re-do Blog shared about our unique heritage and history here in the United States.  Reminders of both our good and bad behavior as we brought together this great country.  I hope we can move ahead TOGETHER.  BANANA CREME PIEI didn’t want to overlook a recipe this week and once again The Kitchen is My Playground caught my attention with this Banana Pudding Pie!  Anything that mentions banana pudding is going to catch my attention, and this cool pie would be great to finish a Sunday dinner!

Canada Day centerpieceThe most clicked link last week came from Lori at Dining Delight!  I always enjoy her Canada Day tablescapes and evidently a lot of you were also growing weary of the red, white and blue!  I have a special love for Canada.  Raising our family just across Lake Erie from Canada, we often spent weekends sailing up to Pelee Island, Canada’s southern most land mass.  A few summers we sailed through the Welland Canal and kept our boat in Toronto for the season.

  1. Thanks for hosting! This week I am bringing more goodness from the garden. Tuna Salad in a Cantaloupe Bowl with cottage cheese and pineapple kicks off the list. Then a cucumber, tomato and red onion salad for a lite summer lunch. To round off the menu is a simple but delicious Cucumber and Onion side dish! Enjoy!

  2. Thanks so much for hosting! I’m linking up with Grandbabies or Grandchildren – What Do You Call Yours? 1. Thanks for the invite! I just got back from Italy last night. I will head over to visit! I gues for the most part, I call them my “girls” since it is just 2 granddaughters!

  3. Thanks so much for hosting, Chloe. I’m linking up 3 watercolor posts for WorldWatercolorMonth which has been lots of fun to participate in. Hope you have a great week! Sandi

  4. Chloe, thank you for highlighting the fact that my Canada Day Tablescape was the most clicked pic last week! I am so surprised that so many Americans would want to check it out! It was interesting to hear of the time you spent in Canada and the fondness you hold for my country. Your trip to Italy sounds wonderful even if it was very hot. Thanks for hosting this wonderful weekly party!

  5. Another favorite pairing (you could serve these items separately on a cheese plate or put them together for a quick pass-around appetizer) is a water cracker topped with Cracker Barrel Mediterranean Herb, honey, arugula, and a pecan. It has a lot of crunch and the herb flavor of the cheese is fantastic.
